Come on!

There are hundreds of spam threads in this section of the forum. I make one thread that I actually want to use and it gets locked? It's not even a non-sense thread or spam either.

I could easily post links for tons of thrds that should have or could have been locked over the thread I created. It's actually a thread I'd want to post in, or come here to read and check out.

It's not a ridiculous request and it's not like I'm spamming up your board with one thread.

So please unlock it.

It was locked because there was a thread that was EXACTLY like it, except that your thread was more specific.

Specificity be the enemy of unity.

The other thread is for web comics, pictures and who knows what else. Like I said before, I don't want to go through pages of that stuff to find links to funny videos. If that's what a person is looking for, ONE thread just for that isn't unreasonable. I could easily find tons of threads that are still in this forum that are exactly alike, but that's not the point.

I'm just saying that one thread that's NOT about spam doesn't need to be locked.

when games.com goes bad and current games.com conversation are nearly identical, but have two separate threads. there's also the post your current aim conversation thread.
these are all threads that have are essentially the same thing (online chats). the games.com thread is just a more specific version of an online chat. so..is there a need for three different kinds of threads discussing online chats? or could it all be encased in a specific 'online chat' thread?

yes, there is a random funny crap you find on the internet thread...which is bogged down with pictures, games, and other random stuff. granted, a funny video thread may be redundant, but, if you're looking specifically for videos, it would be a lot easier to sort through than the other thread.

oh. why couldn't the 'webcomics appreciation thread' go under the random funny crap thread? it's just a more specific version of funny online stuff.
it looks like if lando were to call his thread the 'funny online video appreciation thread', there'd be no problem.

...and that's about all i have to say for now.

i've been quiet for a long time, for fear of the mod powers. but, sometimes threads do get locked for the wrong reason, in my opinion. this is one of those times where i think it wasn't a strong enough reason, and lando also made good points to support his reasoning for the thread being there.
so...i finally spoke up and stopped hiding for fear of being disliked. i'm not taking it terribly seriously...i just wanted to finally put my two cents out there.

i also don't want to attack any of the mods specifically, here. i just wanted to get my opinion out finally.

I don't think Lando's thread was redundant.

I think you're redundant.

But yeah, I personally probably wouldn't have thought to lock it, just trying to explain why it was locked, until the locker can come in with any further insights.

I actually agree with landon this time. the last time he did this (cant remember what it was for) was quite lockable, but if he wants a movie thread i don't see why not.

The last one was hilarious. His thread asking to unlock it was locked. Double mod burn!

It wasn't me!

And Laurel, you should fear the mods. We only love.

...most of the time.

Yeah last time I made a thread about our newest registered user, which there was obviously already a thread for.

Thanks for sticking up for me everyone. I know it's not an extremely serious matter, but it's rediculous that threads that AREN'T spam threads are locked, especially in this forum specifically when there are tons of completely useless threads, many I started myself I admit. I'm not trying to pick a fight, I just think that when mods abuse their power over little things like this that it can make this place a far less enjoyable community.

Honestly, I only did that cos Lando was whining and it was funny. No harm intended! No idea who locked the first one, though.

Well, that's not really an abuse of power. I think that's taking it a little far.

Error in judgement? sure. But it wasn't malicious.

Well, except for Nikki locking your second thread.
