Nice to find a fellow Streets fan. You haven't heard the new single yet, have you? If you have, is it online anywhere?
Oh, my all-time favorite Streets-related link...

The chances of it being played on the radio here in the U.S. is slim to none

Do you know if anyone recorded it and put it online anywhere?
If not, what did you think of it?

Nevermind, a bunch of people have it on LimeWire, so I'm downloading it now

I'm still interested in what you thought of the song though. I hope this mp3 isn't one of those 4 second loops that goes on for 4 minutes. That would suck

This song is awesome! The first time I heard it I thought it was kind of wierd, but the second time I loved it. I think the same thing happened with Fit But You Know It when I first heard that. The mp3 is edited

but it's not a loop, it's the whole song

I'm not a big Streets fan, but it's not a bad song at all - very perceptive as always.

Looks like many (all?) of the songs are up on LimeWire

I already pre-ordered the CD on amazon, so I have no guilty feelings downloading it. I'm in the middle of downloading the first one I found (well, second if you count When You Wasn't Famous) and I previewed the first half.
"Two great European narcotics...alcohol and Christianity...I know which one I prefer."

(from "Never Went To Church")
It's kind of a mellow song, along the lines of Dry Your Eyes (at least musically).

I just ordered the package with the 2 "When You Wasn't Famous" CD singles and the 7". It was only 5 pounds for all three items from
http://www.recordstore.co.uk Unfortunately, it was a few pence MORE than 5 pounds just for the shipping (to the US)
Anyway, I don't have a record player, so I have no use for the 7". If anyone wants it, you can have it for what it costs me to send it to you + PayPal fees. Then again, it might just be cheaper to pick it up for 1.49 pounds + ship on the site above, especially if you're in the UK...but if you want it and think it would be cheaper to do it this way, I'd be happy as long as I break even!

7" offer taken.
Anyway, I now have the following songs in their entirety:
Pranging Out
The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living
When You Wasn't Famous
Never Went To Church
Fake Streets Hats
I also have the first half (or so) of War Of The Sexes and Two Nations (LimeWire allows you to listen to just the portion you've downloaded...the person I was downloading from went off while I was downloading from them)
Anyway, my personal favorite so far is Never Went To Church. As I said before, it has the sound of Dry Your Eyes and it's about his father who passed away a few years ago. Perhaps this is my favorite of the new Streets songs because my own father passed away in 2000 and a lot of what Mike Skinner is talking about I can directly connect with. Aside from that, I think Pranging Out has the potential to do well on "the charts". It's a good song, though not necessarily my personal favorite, but the beat seems like something that a lot of people would like and it's a little more melodic than a lot of Streets songs. Fake Streets Hats is sooo funny! I'm not sure if there are actual clips from live shows on there, but it's produced to sound that way. Something about the drummer putting moisturizer on his face in between songs
