I'm trying to find a large, high-res image of Rapael's "School of Athens". I've been able to find plenty of small, discoloured, blurry, etc.

One site had an image directory FULL of shots. Mostly too small, but a few very large, very high quality detail shots of various sections of the painting. Unfortunately, there weren't enough to piece together the whole image.

I've been trying to make a wallpaper based around this painting, but I can't for the life of me find a decent image.

Does anyone have any idea where I could find this?

Also, here's some of the beautiful detail shots from that site:

and a frustratingly small full-shot from the same site:

That's one's pretty high res, but it's fairly discoloured.

oooh, does anyone know how I might get the full version from here:

You can click and zoom in with great detail on the whole painting, so if I could get the full sized full-res version, it would be perfect!

If I could get it working, I bet I could get the file for you. :(

It was working earlier...

Maybe it will magically start working again. I'll have to keep checking. :nikki:

Not anymore.

At least not for me. I'm still getting the stupid connection refused error.

finished!

I took screen caps from that java applet and pasted together the whole thing in all its high-res glory.

It took 100 screenshots. 4001x3000 pixels.

How long did that take you?

eh, a couple of hours all told. Most of the time was spent just trying to line everything up perfectly.
