A jet flew from Toronto to Paris at 800km/h and returned at 700km/h. If the total trip not including stopover time was 15hrs, how far is it from Toronto to Paris?
Let x= time traveling to Paris
Let y= time traveling to Toronto
Both variables are in hrs
Equations
1. 15= x+y
2.
A thousand thank yous to whoever solves this!

I just tried and failed.
I don't have a maths degree honest.

distance = ratextime
Let x represent distance from Toronto to Paris
total time = 15 hrs
(x/800 + x/700=15)*5600 <---if you are wondering why i did that, it is because 5600 is a common multiple 800, 700, and 15.
7x + 8x = 84000
x = 5600
5600km.

1. 15=x+y
15-x=y
2. 800x=700y
1.14x=y
Substitute y from eqn 1:
1.14x=15-x
2.14x=15
x=7
y=15-7=8
800x = 800km/hr x 7hr = 5600km
Similarly,
700y = 700km/hr x 8hr = 5600km
The distance from Toronto to Paris is 5600 km
