Dec 10th-white band day

Dec 10th is whiteband day. This is the 3rd time this year where people will join in and wear their "ONE" whitebands in union to help wipe out world wide poverty and aids. If you have a white band( either MakePovertyHistory or ONE) wear them today with pride. Show the world you care and let your voice be heard..

From the heartland to Hollywood, over 2 million Americans are wearing the white band in support of the ONE Campaign. Rock stars, mothers, farmers, actors, ministers and pastors, college students. You?

Stand up and join them: Get your ONE White Band today.

On December 10th, you can wear the white band and show you’re part of the fight against global AIDS and extreme poverty. On this final White Band Day of 2005, one of three days this year when people from America to Zambia unite in ONE voice, we can move a step closer to making poverty history by making trade fair.

More than 1 billion people live on $1 or less a day, and most of them are people who work hard, play by the rules and want the same dreams we all have in common—to send their children to school, build thriving businesses and create hopeful futures. They can only have that opportunity if we level the playing field and make the rules fair—by making trade fair.

Speak up and join them: Sign on to the ONE Big Noise letter today and ask our leaders to do more to make trade fair.

World leaders took important steps at the G8 Summit in July and the World Summit in September. Now they must help make trade part of the solution to poverty, instead of one of the causes. As people around the world gather to mark White Band Day, leaders from around the world will also gather in Hong Kong to consider this opportunity to help millions lift themselves out of poverty by changing the rules of trade.

With only a week before world trade negotiations begin, join the ONE Campaign on December 10th by wearing your white band and signing your name to the ONE Big Noise. Let’s ask world leaders to change the rules of trade and put an end to extreme poverty.

Me and Melissa's came from one.org... but that's the American site. You'd probably get yours from makepovertyhistory.ca.

I was going to buy one from my University's something or other office but then I found out that there are like 10 sponsers across the thing. Its like having a MPH bracelet with a Tommy Hillfiger logo on it. Whoever though of that idea was an idiot.

I've got one. I wore it for most of the summer, but it's huge, so I took it off.

I was only stating that this is UNITY DAY..It is on both ONE and MakePovertyHistory sites along with what has been done in the past few months on poverty and aids. It doesn't matter if people wear it everyday or not.. I have given these bands to so many people..

NIKKI:
not everyone will wear something after the fact. It was reported that a great majority people going to the LIVE 8 shows had no clue what the shows were about.. They just went cause they were free or they liked an artist on the bill.I am willing to bet some people still don't know what those shows were about.

BTW 36 nations have had their debt cleared. That is a major thing to happen.. I think people are making a small change in this fight on global poverty and aids.. Wipe that out and educate people, help their communities to grow..

the bands can be bought at www.one.org
least amount you can order is 10 for $10 dollare.

MPH bands can be bought for $2 each at the MPH site..

Yup. There were lots of people around us who clearly had no idea. It made me very sad and disgusted. They talked through all the educational parts of the concert, too. I don't know how people can jabber on about Kanye West while dying children are being broadcast on giant screens right in front of you, but apparently some people can.
