As megxyz128 started a thread on the Detroit show September 19th I think it should be fair that I start a thread on this :)

My girlfriend and I are coming from Halifax, NS to see OLP. I have never seen OLP play an intimate club show before and I want to be able to experience it. Because there's no way in hell that they will ever do that here!

So who's going to this show?! :P

Happy posting!

I didn't record the show. I wanted to see OLP at a small venue for the first time without any hassles of carrying recording equipment.

My girlfriend and I arrived at the venue around 7:30 ish ...Line up was freakin' nuts! ....anyways we met a guy in the line up who knew Gail from a previous concert and we got the whole down-low on her  :)

We got in the venue around 8:30 and a beer. Then we went to the mosh pit. Yadda Yadda.

OLP started around 10:30 and ended the show at 12 am

I want to cut to the chase

My girlfriend passed out near the end of the show, during the encore when OLP were playing somewhere out there. She just fell backwards, it was like odd. But as she fell backward to me and I controlled her down to the ground I knew something was wrong because I kept on yelling GILLIAN GILLIAN, into her ear. She was unresponsive. I was really concerned because I never dealt with a passed out person before so I started yelling for HELP to security. As 10 seconds went by she woke up and was really confused. Then ......OLP stopped in the middle of Somewhere Out There to see if anyone was hurt, they huddled in a group to see what was going on and Raine said looking right at me, "Is everything ok over there?" I nod Yes because she was awoke, then he said, "Nobody's hurt are they?", I nod No because she wasn't and then he said, as she got up, "Is she ok?", I nodded yes and said thank you numerous times to him and the band. Then they continued playing SOT.

I just want to say thank you to Raine, Duncan, Jeremy and Steve for being very professional and personable by stopping in the middle of SOT to see if my girlfriend was alright. It really shows how much they care for their fans, seriously. And showing a concern for safety made this whole situation more comfortable for my girlfriend because if the music was still playing there would've been more confusion as to where she was.

Again if you guys are reading this, Thank You.

Your friend

Deryk.

Don't worry. He said on the hub that she's OK. :)

I <3 OLP for things like that.

Anyway, yeah, dealing with a passed out person at a concert is freaking scary. Just be glad (I'm assuming) she's smaller than you. Monkey passed out on me at Green Day 4 years ago. Little 5'4" scrawny me trying to hold up 6'0" muscly him... no good. Thank god I was leaning back on a gate. Security took him while he was still passed out and I didn't see him again til after the concert. 8O

Oh MY. I hope it as all good. But I am wondering who it could of been..I dont; remember talking to anyone who was going to Boston unless it was Nick and his sister. I know them from the New England area shows..

glad to her she is okay.. Unfortunately with my job I have had people pass out.It is usually from heat and not eating. That could of been the case with your girlfriend. It gets pretty hot in a venue and it might of gotten to her. It is good to here she came too. That happen to me one time I got kicked really hard in the head by a surfer and fainted. let me tell you it is scary when that happens cause you do get confused..

This is one band that does care about the fans. and it isn;t somem kind of act. they are geniune and give a damn about us.. they have stopped shows before when it looks like somethign is going on. At teh seoncd NYC show theystopped cause I think there was a fight or somehting liek that goiing on. Raine said I like fighting as much as the night guy but not at an olp show. Are you guys okay.. This is one thing I love about the band. how they care about the fans.

Yeah, a crowdsurfer landed on my neck last night...as in a really big guy. That was rather scary, but fortunately I was okay...

Yeah, they definately pay attention to the crowd. Here, the concert was held by a beer company and it started at 4 in the afternoon. So by the time they went on stage at like 9:30, there were an awfully lot of drunk people. And they stirred up a lot of shit in the mosh pit. It was only about 10 people who were really pushing people and body surfing and everything but they would end up getting the whole crowd to push over and some people would end up falling down and that sort of thing. It wasn't pretty. And security wasn't doing a thing. But the band kept stopping and telling people to calm down and help someone up if they are pushed over and all that.
I did see a lot of boyfriends drag their passed out girlfriends out of the crowd though. More then I can count.

Gail, they just said you were a hardcore fan that wrote notes to the band! :O

I was like :O SO!!

but yeah, the show was awesome and Raine talked to me!!!

but that's besides the point, my main concern was my girlfriend and only my girlfriend and I'm so glad that she's fine. I love you Gillian if your reading this  <3
