I watched an episode of Quantum Leap today where Jack Kerouac saved a girl's life by explaining to her that she didn't have to literally travel the road in order to see the World. Earlier in the episode, though, he was presented as a crazy drunk. On a side note, I love Quantum Leap. Oh Boy!

I haven't seen that show in a very long time. I remember one time he had to save a girl from Hank, but then it turned out that hank was a hurricane, but then it turned out hank was a guy named hank.
Or something.

I have seasons 1-3 on DVD.
The one where he has to save his brother in Vietnam is the best episode EVER!

Was everything in the 80's about Vietnam?
The whole plot behind Airwalf was the guy searching for his brother who was a POW in nam
I'm pretty sure the A team was part of a combat unit in nam
Then we had MASH which was in Na ... Korea .... which is close to vietnam
Principal Skinner went to nam
The list goes on

That was easily the best show that was ever on television.
How about that episode where he leaped into a monkey? haha.
I think it's on at 1:00 AM central time on the Sci Fi channel, Nikki.
EDIT:

Quantum Leap, a show from the early 90's (I think it may have started in 89, actually...) about a guy who gets stuck leaping around in time, and each time he leaps, he is a different person who has to fix whatever bad situation he has leaped into.
