Anyone else going? I just bought my ticket and I'm incredibly excited...the club's literally a 30 second walk from my dorm, and I've never seen OLP live before, though they've been one of my 2 favorite bands for the past 6 years...

(I've been a lurker here for a while, though I hadn't posted yet as I was trying to delay my noob status...*braces for flames*...hehe...)

I am going.. Don't know what time I will get there cause I work that day and coming up after work.. You will love the live show.. Hopefully they will play more then 1 hour.. It seems they are only playing an hour set on alot of the shows..

Since you are in New Haven. Can you tell me how far the club is from the Metro North station. Thanks.

6 Days till OLP in LA :) wrote:I am going.. Don't know what time I will get there cause I work that day and coming up after work.. You will love the live show.. Hopefully they will play more then 1 hour.. It seems they are only playing an hour set on alot of the shows..

It's not too far to walk but you have to cross through a really sketchy area to get to Toad's if you were to walk, so I'd recommend getting a cab from the station over to the club. It's a really quick ride, depending on traffic- probably less than 10 minutes. I know it usually costs me about $5-$7 for a cab ride from the train station to my dorm, which is right where Toad's is. So yeah, won't take you long at all.

No problem- glad to be helpful! And Toad's is a much nicer venue than the coliseum...hehe...it's quite small- don't know exactly how many it holds but not too many- the sound there is great, and they basically have no security so bringing in cameras is not an issue at all. At least that's how it was for the last show I went to there (this past November)!

Gail...make sure to represent for an old CT guy! Toad's is very small...I'd say way smaller than the bowery ballroom. Last time OLP played there in 98, it wasn't too packed. Only thing that sucked there then was the big plastic fencing between the bar crowd and the under 21'ers.

Enjoy...Peace!

I'm thinking they don't have that fencing anymore...cuz I really don't remember that from the show I last went to there, and there was next to no security or carding or anything like that...

Raien came out into audience to sing that part of WAY. Which is weird causee I thought of katirina when I heard that part a few weeks ago. Scary how Raine and I think at times... To echo Gail, the show was freaking amazing. It was my first olp show ever and it was worth the nearly 7 year wait. Wow. We heard them doing Potato Girl during soundcheck from outside the club, and when they broke that out in the encore I went crazy. Just amazing.

Oh, and we met the "Coutts Crew" - meaning Duncan's twin daughters and his wife, and I think his sister-in-law. They were adorable!

I took hundreds (literally) of pictures thanks to my lovely gig memory card...I'll post highlights soon and put the rest on the hub to share.

Wow. Oh and I got a setlist autographed by all 5 guys. Yay!
