Yeesh, this isn't one of those lame tricks. This is actually a really cool optical illusion (I know that saying this won't actually convince you, but I said it anyways...)

It's awesome. Your brain just makes the assumption that it's a 3D convex object sticking out towards you (even though, for example, the "top" is dark, since in reality it's shaded from the light).

Very cool indeed. I've always had a thing for optical illusions. I own a couple books about them and M.C. Escher is my favorite artist.


EDIT: I just made the paper one. Wow, it gives you a whole new respect when you see it in person (no that the video wasn't cool, but you know what I mean.)

it took me forever to make that damn dragon that looks more like a dog but i think i messed up because IT DOESN'T WORK!!!!!!

I'm glad I didn't try now... cos I bet I'd screw it up, too. I was never good at paper folding/origami type stuff.
