PS3, Xbox360 and the new Nintendo console (currently codenamed "revolution") are all the buzz right now. X360 should be out before the hollidays, while PS3 and Nintendo are releasing their consoles early next year.
I'll wait until they're all out before I choose.
PS3 and X360 are both going for insanely good graphics. Though there haven't been many PS3 screens/videos yet ... X360's graphics look amazing (at least they do in all the racing games - but those games always look great).
Apparently, however, Nintendo isn't going so much for graphics. They want to change the gaming experience. Should be interesting to see what they're up to once they finally announce it. Hopefully they'll actually tell us something at E3.

Also, I'm going to make this a thread for all three.

Woah.

They're all like... futuristic looking and stuff.
Oh yeah, and instead of making a new thread for all three, why don't you just change the topic of this one?

Check out
www.gamespot.com to find some info on all three, with lots of screenshots and whatnot.
I want to learn more about the Nintendo console, but they're being pretty tight-lipped about it now.

The controller in the Nintendo picture doesn't look very functional. It's just some weird disc. Very futuristic.
Reminds me of Back to the Future 2.

REMed, Robbo... REMed... you're on the CM. We have our own language we need to use to confuse the noobs.

you'd think xbox would realize how much their controller sucked and come up with something better.

It's basically just the smaller version of the original.
I'm hoping Nintendo really does something revolutionary and different. So far it just looks like a backwards-compatible system, exactly the same as the other two. The only new thing I've read so far is that you can go online and download games from the other Nintendo consoles and play them. Kind of a neat idea, but probably expensive as hell.

I wish PS3 would've just kept the same kind of controller, because it's still better than just about every other controller out there.
My money's going for a PS3, I probably won't even consider the other two.

And before debating goes too far...

it's NOT BETTER THAN THE GAME CUBE CONTROLLER
but i also hope nintendo goes for something different. i dont think they can compete if it's the same stuff as the other two systems, and that would be rather depressing.

Well, they're going with less graphics concentration, so if they don't offer something big, they're going to have to stick to portable gaming.

Also, I love how this is the only industry with a five-year reset switch. A company that screwed up one year can completely turn it around next time. And each time, consumers have the chance to pick a new console (or consoles) to invest in (I call it an investment because as soon as you choose the console, you also choose which company you will be buying games from for the next five years or so).

Metal Gear Solid 4 (a futuristic post-MSG2 stealth action title) has just been announced for the PS3.
