What the freak does it matter if he makes ice cream?

I think that's MY point. He doesn't matter BECAUSE he makes icecream. What kind of political levy is that? Why bother joining his mailing list? And using beebees as factual data? That seems reliable....

So, just because someone does something non-political for a living means their points and efforts to change the world don't matter? Yeah. That makes sense.

What exactly is he doing to "change the world"? Sending your name to congressmen? Why don't YOU do that YOURSELF? I imagine that would be more effective. Rather than some piece of junkmail with 100 random names on it that don't even know that their names were sent, for what, and when.

Also, since you've now edited your post...

The beebees are representative to make average Americans understand. I think it gets the point across quite well.

Actually, if you joined, you'd see that that's not how it works at all.

The point of the site is to keep people informed of what's going on in congress that we normally wouldn't know about unless we watched freaking C-SPAN for hours on end every day. They send e-mails about important issues, then people can choose to simply hit reply & send to the email, which will send a form letter that TrueMajority has made to their congressman, or you can write your own if you want.

Every person who sends anything sends their OWN personal fax to the congressman. I'd imagine it adds up quite a bit.

I've gotten countless replies from my congressmen in e-mail and actual snail mail form.

Why should I have to join to figure that out? Maybe a more informative site would be a better method.

Then you should have said that in the first place. Questioning the technique and the man's career choice are completely different from questioning the facts illustrated.

The site *is* informative. I found all that out before I joined way back when I did, otherwise I wouldn't have. But I'm not about to go find where I read it before joining just to prove my point to you, you can do that for yourself.

Oh please. If Orvelle Reddenbacher made a site that said we should have MORE nuclear weapons, what would YOU say?

I'd disagree with him and be quite impressed that he can make a website from the grave.

Perhaps... but what if the said website showed a video with microwaveable popcorn representing nuclear bombs as proof that they are harmless? I think that should be enough to get you to jump on board.

Somehow I missed this post. Why in the world would you expect me to join if you can't bother to tell me what it's for?

They make it pretty clear what the site's for. Regardless, I'm not going to waste my time explaining it to you, because you clearly aren't going to join, thanks to your preoccupation with focusing on the fact that a man who's career happens to be food is one of the people running it.

If anyone else asks, I'll explain.

I like how you assume that the only reason I'm a member of the site is because I like ice cream.
