In the past couple of years or so I've become increasingly interested in, who woulda thunk, ABANDONED BUILDINGS. I started playing Silent Hill and the idea of abandoned, decaying hospitals and apartments really started to appeal to me. I started finding lots of websites w/ pictures from abandoned asylums and I started paying more attention to all the OLD, DECAYING BUILDINGS in my area. But I never seriously thought I'd ever actually EXPLORE any buildings.

Then we discovered a bunch of forums, and a website called UER.CA (Urban Exploration Resource), which had a database of locations to explore. Turns out there was an abandoned tuberculosis hospital about 30 minutes away.


The MORGUE. Some sicky left little bibles there and that's fuckin weiiiiiird.

After I left I got the biggest rush and I felt EUPHORIC, despite the fact that I'm probably infected w/ asbestos and I was choking on the dust.

I love exploring buildings like asylums and trying to figure out what things were, how things were mapped out. I love buildings that have a STORY.

So, that's my story. Curious to see if anybody else is interested.

Btw, the strangest thing about the TB hospital was that the morgue only had 2..uhh.. SLOTS(?) for bodies. This's strange because HUNDREDS of people died there every year.

that's actually pretty awesome. i've always wanted to look through old abandoned buildings, and now i'm kinda jealous that you've done that first.

Wow that's freaky as hell, in psych. class we gotto take a trip to the old Asylum turned mental hospital. It's freaky even though its in good shape and being used as a museum. There's brains in jars, and all kinds of bed cages, and restraining devices. Not to mention the scary as hell electro-therapy equipment.

One room has these chairs that people were tied down to and the arms are full of deep scratches from their fingers.

The dentist's operation room is just plan sinister too.


on a humorus note, in the latter years it became much more humane, and they offered all kinds of activities and sports, inculding several teams that played against normal city sports teams. The name of their Teams was "The Brandon Mentals"

I still remember that site you posted here with the pics of the abandoned asylum, including the infamous "Fuck me, I'm a fridge".

I must see that picture, thats the greatest pick up line EVEr....well, if
i were a fridge at least. No seriously those are awesome... im usually
seriously creeped out by things like this, but i find this SERIOUSLY
intriguing.
