That reminds me of when the bridge attendant at the Welland canal was drunk and actually started lowering the bridge as a huge boat with a crane attached was going through. I think the clip of that actually ended up on some FOX show about people doing stupid things.

i'm not even reading this thread, or looking at the video, but i wanted to throw in what first came to my mind when i read 'tugboat'.
remember theodore tugboat? hell yes, you do.
when i was in lunenburg, nova scotia last year, he was so totally docked in the harbor there.
