Allrighty, so I was prescribed the stuff today. I'm really nervous about taking it, has anyone here taken it? Some of the side effects are really freaking me out. I'm considering not taking it.

my brother took it. i'm not even sure if he still takes it now. and i know a bunch of people from high school who used to take it, so i wouldn't be too worried.
what are the side effects anyway?

depression, weight fluctuation, suicidal tendencies, and a messed up sex drive among others. it was so funny when she said it though, she listed all of those side effects and at the very end of it she was like "oh, and chapped lips!"
lol

i went on it twice, the only side effects i got were dry skin and chapped lips.
i must say, however, it didn't really work for me. first it made my acne get worse, and it didn't seem to get better at all till the end of the six month period. then it cleared up for about two months before coming back just as badly as before i'd taken it. a second round on the stuff did the same thing. but that's just me; i know for a lot of people it really works and clears everything up permanently.

she said that it'll take two months for me to see a huge difference.

they told me that too. it differs for each person.

but hey, it was fun going to get blood taken to make sure my cholesterol wasn't too high and taking a pregnancy test in the dermatologist's office every month.

bah, you won't ever have to know the embarassment of your mother exclaiming in a crowded dermatologist's office "she better not be pregnant, it'll be the goddamn immaculate conception!"

lmao, she seriously say that?!

it worked really well for my brother. he used to have really bad acne on his face , neck and back and i think it's pretty much gone now. actually, i'm pretty sure he has really good skin. it just dries everything out a lot.
and i read a scary article about it. so i'm afraid of people taking it.

yeah, there are a lot of horror stories out there. that's why i'm kind of hesitant.

my friend went on accutane about a year or 2 ago... it worked pretty damn well for her, and this is a girl who's face was nearly covered in pimples and blemishes... only 3 weeks after she started taking it, her skin was nearly flawless, and it even got rid of some ugly scars, which was pretty great.

did she go crazy?
i dont mean that in an inslutling way, i just mean to ask if she saw any of the side effects

i kinda didn't want to mention that.
but uhh... yeah, she was a bit depressed around the 6 or 7 month mark, but she did tell her doctor about that, so the doc told her to stop taking it. so she did.
she told me a few weeks ago that she's actually feeling better, and yeah, her skin is still pretty good.
...
please ignore the screwy grammar. i've been speaking spanish non-stop for the past week or 2.
