Hey everyone, I was reading the newest entry on the APC site and Maynard was in a short film that won the Grand Jury award at the 2004 New York Independant International Film and Video Festival! Or (NYIIFVF) It's called Sleeping Dogs Lie.

The reason I find this to be so cool is that in 2002, a film I worked on was accepted into this festival and I went to NYC to represent it. It's just too bad that it wasn't the same year as this film because it would be really cool to meet Maynard.

Anyway, here's the link to the site, you can watch the trailer or oder the short film which I guess stars Maynard.

This seems like an appropriate thread to mention that my avatar clearly states that the Champ taught me the ball punch!

I do believe they chose all the material used since there probably wasn't a lot of material if any they actually had to film.

everything in that video is something that they recorded off of television. except for the wierd baby thing (i think) and the car part where the red car is driving down a road and the people are bobbing hteir heads.

I know that most of it was pre-filmed from other sources, but I wasn't sure how much original material was used.

The point of view they take and their message is very true to life, especially with current events. They used the song in a very powerful way, but it's very appropriate. It's the way the world has been lately.

Yeah. the fashion in which Maynard sings it just adds to it. It's very different from the Lennon version. There isn't that level of optimism.
