Silverchair - Freak Show

I got "Freak Show" by Silverchair shortly it came out and I listened to it a few times but never really got into it. I probably hadn't listened to it for at least two years or so until about two weeks ago (when you have almost 700 CDs, not counting bootleg concerts, you don't get to put all of them in "heavy rotation"). Since then, I've really been loving it! Does anyone else here like this album? I wonder why I never really listened to it much when I got it...

ever since diorama came out, I think I've understood better what silverchair was trying to do on freak show and neon ballroom. Those albums by themselves are definately great, but I see diorama as being the culmination of a years of trying to get a certain something into the music and then finally getting it perfect. At times on freak show and neon ballroom I'll be listening to a song and be really enjoying it and then a new section will start and kind of ruin the mood, and I think to myself 'now why would they do that?' but as I say, it makes a lot more sense hearing diorama.

I have a question.
Why do you (Troy) put "::Troy::" at the bottom of all your posts? Why not simply add that to your signature? Does it serve some purpose? Do you just really like your name, because I'm okay with that. Thanks.

I seem to remember this question being asked about a year ago, and I think the final verdict was that it doesn't really matter.

Nikki and Kym will chime in with their thoughts on this I'm sure, whenever Nikki returns from Florida, and whenever Josh or someone tells Kym this thread exists. Neon Ballroom = good stuff.

I suppose I could just add it to my sig, but I don't have a signature feature on my e-mail program which I also use to post to newsgroups. I sign my name the same way on all of those messages, so even if I added it to my sig here on the CM, I'd probably end up typing it anyway (just out of habit) and then it would be there twice.

Course... this is coming from the girl who owned Naveed and Happiness for years and never gave them a second listen til 2002.

funny story
back when this cd came out i bought it...my friend stole it and cracked it in half on purpose...we got into a huge fight...havent heard the cd in 10 years or however long it has been
