Okay, my new more educated response:

If Spybot can't delete the file, you'll have to do it manually...

Find the file (Spybot should give you the directory when it finds it, I think), and try deleting it. Chances are you won't be able to, though. If not, rename the file (I like to use "1DELETEME" so it's easy to find), then restart your computer. The file will no longer load for the ad/spyware program (because it will look for the file under it's original name), then simply delete "1DELETEME".

Cass wrote:Holy shit I've just been bombarded with so much pop ups and shit that I'm considering boycotting the use computers for the rest of my natural life.

I have AdAware, SpyBot, and Hijack This (as Korzic recommended in the other thread). Any other suggestions? I also have Symantec antivirus. Spybot finds a coolwww search, but won't get rid of it. I know there has to be a way.

coolwww is a killer. It got into my computer and i had to remformat the whole damn thing. But then again spybot did get rid of it once :uhh: or you can always go to www.webroot.com and download the free sample of spysweeper that should get rid of it too.

Man. I gave up and totally reformatted. Second time in four months. :(

Thankfully, I learned my lesson last time, and having two drives is a God send.

... that is... until you fill both up and don't have room to put all your crap on the other, anyway. :uh: Then you're screwed.

God I hate my computer.

Wow, I have ALOT of stuff, but my extra drive is only half full and it holds every single program and bit of music I have.

Get another drive?

I've already got 347 gigs total on my machine. :uh: I've managed to fill up 300 of them. :freak: And the bigger drive is the one that's messed up. :crying:

I feel for you *pat pat*

So, after I reformatted, my winamp won't play my avis. I have winamp 5.06 pro...I believe. It's weird cause it never had any problem before. Is there a plugin I need?

 I've got every song and video ever made by certain artists, yeah. :nana:

Hmm... that's a strange problem, Cass. Are the files opening up in a different program, or going to Winamp then just not playing?
