Yay for Photoshop.

It wasn't much of a photoshoot.

Here's me dressed up with people about three months ago:

That's all of the pictures I have of me, at least recent ones.

shyaaa, prinnypoo now has diabetes and cataracts.

word of warning to anyone thinking of getting a dog: schnauzers are NOT a healthy breed to choose.

I'll always adopt mixbreeds SOLELY because most pure bred breeds are action packed w/ genetic diseases. WHY IS THIS? Because they used inbreeding to create new breeds.

I didn't know about this club! I would have posted pictures sooner.

And about purebreeds- we used to have a German Shepherd and she lived for only two and a half years. The breeder never told us her disease ran in the bloodline- well, of course not, because she wouldn't have gotten money from us.

Nope, but that's cool!

I look like alot of people I think. Me and my cousin, and my dad's cousins mix people up. They'll come up to me and be like Jill! I mean Tana! I mean Katrina! Ack! Who are you?

yep. basically. if ever i got another dog (which i don't think i ever will... or at least not for a long time) it would definitely be a mixed breed.

you guys are scaring me. my dog is a pure breed american eskimo. is that bad?

well it's entirely variable, there are certain illnesses and disorders that each pure breed is prone to. they don't develop 100% of the time, but it's just more likely that they will. for schnauzers the big danger is diabetes. i have two schnauzers, they're both diabetic, and it's proven really difficult to care for them thus far. but it may not always be this bad with pure breeds... i may just have an anamolous horror story.

I have a pure bred and it's doing awesome. I guess Lakeland terriors are supposed to be a healthy breed....

as a sidenote, I don't think we could be talking about anything less relevant to the topic of this thread.

actually inbreeding was a problem in pure-breds but if befor eyou buy your dog the person can show you a paper of it's family pedigree you can acertain whether or not your dog is linked to inbreeding. Purebreds just mean the dog is predictable, you can predict it's behavior and what it's prone to. Mix breeds anything goes and in some cases it's harder for a vet anticipate problems

All the dogs I've ever had have been pure breeds, but I don't think it was intentional...
