I just got home from Cloverfield. I read the spoilers. I've seen the art of the monster from fans. I knew how it all went. But seeing it, experiencing it as a first time viewer....Wow. The most action and suspense I have seen in a while for a movie. No bs soundtrack following them. Just the atmosphere and surroundings. The most amazing thing about the movie is how you feel like you are participating. That was the point obviously, but it was executed so perfectly. Characters say what you would say in that situation. They have the smart ass behind the camera video taping it all, while the others tell him to shut up but it also affects them.

The most amazing thing is when I left the cinema with my buddies and looked around the parking lot with the street lights shining. I looked around like it was still a movie and a big monster foot was gonna come and stomp on the theatre.

See this movie. It's tense, funnier than you'd think, and complete edge of your seat good time. Totally worth the hype.

I wanna see Cloverfield! You didn't make me want to see it any less, so that's a huge plus!

I saw 27 Dresses. I thought it was so cute. I knew it was going to be a stupid chick flick but I really liked the dialogue and humor.

Cloverfield is amazing. It's a good change and very fresh compared to a lot of movies now. Just don't be stupid and go see it and say "I want my money back" at the end of the movie because it was too jittery for you. It's a handheld movie taking place from the view of someone's camcorder. It's not going to have Steady cams like normal huge budget pictures. Seriously though, for the little bit of jitteriness there is that's actually somewhat annoying, it's pretty much all at the beginning of the movie. During a 30 second scene in a convenience store. The rest of it isn't bad at all... nowhere near as bad as the bourne ultimatum.

All I can say to everyone is go see this movie. You might not like it as much as I did, but the one thing I promise you is that you're not going to say "been there, seen that" and be bored by it. even if you don't like the end result.

go see it, excellent film.

Wasn't impressed by Dewey Cox,

Got like an 30 mins into it and I felt like I was watching Scary Movie 13. Just a bunch of slapstick parodies stuck together.

except after that first bit, it gets slow and serious and isn't really funny throughout.

Has anybody seen "The Hunting Party" with Richard Gere and Terrence Howard?

I won the DVD being caller 9 at my local radio station this morning. Just wondering if it was worth my phone call.

Finally saw Cloverfield.
Got motion-sick, had to close my eyes to avoid vomiting.
Couldn't actually WATCH half the movie, but it sounded great

What I did see of it was pretty awesome. I will definitely be renting it when it comes out on DVD so I can try to watch the rest of it.

Yeah it did. I thought I was prepared, but the commercials are NOTHING like the movie (of course). I also never get motion sick (I've never had a problem reading in a car or anything) so I didn't think it would bother me, but it did. Oh well!

I gotta say, the motion isn't too bad, Laurel gets motion sick easily. She can't even watch guitar hero. it makes her sick, but the movie didn't bother her at all.
