today will be nice because it's a beautifully ugly bright sunny day outside and i'm dying to go out to english bay and just hang out for a while, listen to broken social scene, and read some books. doug coupland's "eleanor rigby" comes to mind. or art spiegelman's "maus". or something.
"if the nuremberg trials were applied to us foreign policy, every us president since 1945 would have been hanged." noam chomsky.

...and this is me hanging on / i'd burn our initials in the sun if it would shine / anxiety chokes me like razor wire / if hate's in your heart man, you'll take what you're given / wake up / i'm not the only one / it's never goodbye / go ahead and play dead / if everyone's a casualty, then take your time, there ain't no trouble / these wounds they will not heal / ambition can be a tricky thing / what the hell do i know about rape anyway? / this is not what i hoped for / ain't it so weird how it makes you a weapon / who will be there to tell me how stupid i am? / those living for death will die by their own hand / and it's me that I am spying on / pick up the pieces and live with the stars / hurry up and wait / things have never been so swell / they're always the ones who slowly drift / be great / ...and this is my world.

When I went to the pre-official-Gravity Tour show in Ohio back (whenever it was) I remember some dude repeatedly shouting...

"PLAY DENIED!!"

Good luck on Julia, BTW. That would be sweet to hear, live.

I got my first exam over with, which went pretty well. And the really exciting thing - I found out that I get to do my senior thesis next year with the professor I really wanted to work with! She's absolutely brilliant and an expert in her field, so not only should it be a really good experience for me, but it's going to look great on resumes/grad school apps that I worked with her!

It was still going on in BC on Saturday morning.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Each province gets a set number of cups and they all run out at different times. Looks like we ran out first!

so my lifeadvisorexenglishteacher who i love, well the other day i got to tell her all about my girlfriend and i (she's the first person i got to tell the whole cute story to) and she thought it was like really really cute and she's all happy for me and it was lovely.

well today my girlfriend and i were walking home from school, and ms. b drove by and waved out her car window and said hi and i'm not sure why but it was really really cute and i really loved it.
i love that she's happy for me and approves and such. she thinks we're cute even though we're not "socially acceptable"

i love life. :)

You are socially acceptable. It's the closed-minded freaks who aren't.
