Satanists believe that the devil is a force of nature. They also believe that there is no heaven and no hell.

Joe Cooler wrote:I'm not kidding. Usually door to door groups will leave you alone if you tell them you are part of another faith. The Jehovah witnesses skip our house everytime they come around because my mom told them our family was Christian.

Jehovah witnesses belong to a denomination of Christianity. [/religion lesson]

internet tends to communicate that poorly.

The reason i got mad was because they harrassed me every single weekend, even after i told them i wasnt' intrestested. Finally i told them i didn't agree with the immoral and ilogical teachings of their religon. They haven't been back.

Can someone tell me why "God" needs such extravagant shows of faith when children are dying and starving?

as Bono put it "The God i believe in isn't short of cash mister", i hardly think he's vain enough to need, or reward huge tributes, and if he is then he isnt really that great afterall.

I particularly disagree with the Jehovah Witness religion. Alot of them live in my area, and the kids are told they arent allowed to be friends with non JW's, and to look down on them. I've befriended a few of the rebellious ones, but there is a large group at my school who keep to themselves. Its crazy. The pamphlets i've read are horrible. They say stuff like "Dont let your child be oblivious to his faults" and all this.

Whatever floats your boat I guess.

yeah i particularily disagree with Jehovah's aswell, second in line is the Catholic Church, then protestants. that although i respect where they came from i don't see them much better anymore the Catholics. Other religon's in the area don't press anything on me, therefore i'm less likely to hold any ill feelings towards them, infact i probably reject beliefs more readily when they're forced on me.

Because that's the essence of faith. If your faith fails you when something terrible happens, then it really wasn't that strong, was it? God is not vain, faith is for our own good, not his.

That's really horrible. How can they expect to convert people if they are teaching their youth to look down and not associate with people of other religions? I can tell the conversion is going really well for them...

I dont think my parents ever went that far. I was always allowed to be friends with anyone, except when i started my relationship with Max, my dad flipped. Max=Jewish, Me=Catholic.

Then again, my parents are immigrants, they dont get it. I know alot of canadian catholics, who arent SUPER catholic, not like back home anyways.

Oh man, I think it's funny how you can be "super" catholic or "sorta" catholic. Are you, or aren't you?

Thats what I think too, but its really hard to be a perfect catholic, there are alot of rules and stuff.

By extravagant shows of faith i meant the corrupt decadence that the Catholic church has been living in since near it's creation. I'm saying why do we need such superficial things when the money could be used to atually change our world, instead of spending it on gods and expecting them to chane it for us.

Well you can't be perfect, but its always pushed on you, thats why i eventually stopped following it at all. I love God, but I cant handle what comes out of the Pope and the Priests mouths.
