Pete Lesperance recently had a blog post:
It's about f****n time!
OK so here's the deal...
The Fair Ground record will be available for purchase in hard copy (for those of you who would still like to have a Fair Ground coaster) or as a digital download sooner then you think.
Thanks for the patience and stay tuned for further updates.
And by all means...we could use some help so SPREAD THE WORD!
Later babies

love love love love love.
Maybe they are intentionally riding off the Breakfest Club.
Maybe the next time we see Emtee he'll look like Molly Ringwald.

Any creative CMers out there??
Myspace blog from Mike on the Fair Ground page.....
Hey all,
O.K. We get the hint! I know it's been a while and for that we're sorry, but we're busy folks, you know? So we've been getting tonnes of mail and comments and stuff asking about the record and when it'll be out so we finally decided to do it ourselves. There's been lots of conversations with other folks and lots of back and forth and 'Lets wait and see what' s happening..." We've had it. Now would be a good time to get on things in order on our own.
That being said, we realize that we're pretty good at knowing what a record should sound like but not that great at knowing what it should look like. I looked at some profiles and it seems we have some pretty damn creative folks as friends. So here's the thing, if you feel specially creative, take whatever you might want from our page and go nuts! We're looking for anything you feel like sending our way. Logo treatments, ideas for the packaging of this fine little record (which is called 'Down In It' by the way) whatever floats your boat!
We're aiming to have it out this summer, basically as soon as we can get the thing fully in motion (which has begun!). So that means we need the packaging ASAP so go nuts and send us the results. We'll look through and see what we have in a few weeks and that'll be that. In the meantime, keep an eye on this page as we'll be cycling all of the songs through here at one point or another.
I can't wait to see what you're going to come up with!
Namaste,
Mike

Well its time to bring back a very old topic....as a huge fairground fan i decided to try and hunt down some info on what ended up happening with the pete and emtee collaboration...i found an interview with pete that said this:
Tell us a little bit about Fair Ground.
Fair Ground was a labor of love, unfortunately Fair Ground never flew and that's partially our own fault because Mike [Turner, formally of Our Lady Peace] and myself we both have studios, and we're both trying to do a million things at once, and it would really take us kind of getting out there and putting down some cash and going out and playing and losing money where we're actually making money now, you know what I mean? It's too bad, because it was a record I really believed in and I think Mike's addition to it was great... Unfortunately it just never materialized but again, it's a record that I think we really did a good job on it and I hope some people do like it.
it is a little disappointing but i look forward to what pete does on his own and what mike is doing with his new band with edwin

Thanks for the info.
The album really is great stuff.
So easy to put on no matter what I'm in the mood for.
Sucks they never took it any further.

it sounds like it was Pete's album with Mike being an addition. What a dastardly situation

ya...all of the songs except one were on petes solo album, but mike's input made them much better songs (i own both albums)....had they moved forward, they likely would have collaborated on the new songs from the start....it is still a shame it didnt go any further

Pete Lesperance is on some new show on Much Music. They've been advertising it the last few days and because this thread was revived I recognized him, or I never would've noticed a damn thing!
