My next door neighbour. Ew. She used to be chubby too, then she disappeared for a couple months, and now she is about 1 inch wide.

*cough*heroin :roll:

I just don't understand your sizing system. Until I actually see a size 0 pair of trousers I have no idea how big they are. But if that's the equivalent of a UK size 2 (which just doesn't exist) then I just can't visualise it.

Especially when I'm underweight at the moment and still the equivalent size of a north american size 8/10.

:lol:

But I think I know one person who's the same size as that size 1 and she's probably less than 5 foot tall and very skinny.

I wonder if the urban outfitters here have american size labels in them. I think that's going to be my best chance of getting this sorted in my head.

i'm 5'5 or 5'6ish and i'm a size 3 and i'm considered at my 'ideal' weight though i'd like to drop a few more pounds :lol:

i edited it because i didn't think the link was working, i guess it was?
i couldn't see it :freak:

I could see it fine.

And I'm 5'9" and when I was what various health people seemed to think was my ideal weight I was probably a 10/12 in american sizes.

Someone somewhere is lying. Why can't the sizing just be like boys'???

*goes to do more investigation*

So ... I compared the sizing guides at urban outfitters and next.

According to them ...

UK size 10:
chest = 34" = US 6
waist = 27" = US 8
hips = 36" = US 6

UK size 6:
chest = 31.5" = less than US 3
waist = 24.5" = US 3
hips = 33" = less than US 3

So that whole US sizes = 2 less than UK ones thing appears to be a lie. A size 6 is still pretty thin unless you're short though.

Also English people seem to have bigger waists! Though I think the American sizes would fit me better :D

i'm a size 7...and i'm really skinny...so i dunno, it's kind hard to imagine a person my height as being a size 0...or even 2 or 3..or 4.. :freak:

What's with all these "Bridget Jones" commercials where she keeps saying how fat she is? She's not fat! In fact, I find her just as attractive like that as when she's playing a skinny part!

What's up with that?

I thought she looked horrible in Moulin Rouge. She was so skinny it was absolutly unnatural. I don't understand why either. Woman of that time were not that thin. If anything I think she looks much healthier and cuter in Bridget Jones. And I think the movie is playing up on that fact that no matter how thin or thick a woman is, there is absolutely no way to get around the pressure to be skinnier. Most of them buy into it too.

size zero isn't that small. :freak:

i guess it depends on the store. i tried on a size 0 awhile ago and it was too big. and i'm fat, so a 0 is definately not that small.
