You're not alone, Sooz! I've noticed that, too. It makes me giggle. Accents are fun... unless they're Boston accents. Then they're horrid. No offense to any Bostonians who may be reading this.

Random statement that has nothing to do with grammar or accents:
I saw this guy that had a picture of the US and Canada on it and it said "Canada. We're bigger and on top, if this was prison you'd be our bitch." Or something like that, it was a while ago so I don't remember exactly but you get the gist of it right?
Anyways, back on topic, my cousin was born in California but moved to Quebec with his family when he was young. He moved back about a year ago and I still make fun of him for saying "aboot" (he made sure to stop saying "eh" because I was brutal, what are cousins for right?). Some parts of accents you never really lose, my mom and her sisters were from Ohio and they all still say "wutter" instead of water (my aunt in Canada has the unfortunate luck of maintaining the Ohio thing as well as picking up some Canadian accent).

whoa...who would win in a fight, a fighting rooster, or a fighting beaver? 8O

i'd have to look at the vegas odds on that one.
