my christmas eve has been very magical. first my dad blessed our meal of subway sandwiches and potato salad with the words "may god rest in peace" and then we all sat around the tv and watched the weather channel on mute while listening to my dad's old tape of donovan's greatest hits.

my folks were supposed to close the store at 12
they got home from the store at umm 4?
we then proceeded to eat lunch (by the time that was done like.. whenever the packers game ended)
we then decided to go out and "go somewhere"
my folks went to the indian store to get some stuff
my bro and i went to blockbuster to rent donnie darko and shrek 2
tomorrow we have our big meal (which is done solely to spoil the fuck out of me (mostly) than for religious reasons given that we're hindu)

you mean to say Donovan has other songs that arent Mellow Yellow?
or was it just a tape of Mellow Yellow playing over and over?
because i hope it was

oh no, there were other songs, including one of my dad's "all-time favorite songs." but it did seem like mellow yellow played an awful lot...
actually my dad decided that the collection was incomplete because it was missing his best song like ever (what song would that be? no idea), and then he concluded that this inferior best of donovan tape must be my mom's.

the only good gap commercial are the old fake ones from SNL with Will Farrell as Neil Diamond "This songs about the time I killed a homeless man to gain an erection"
