he probably means non-sing the sorrow stuff. I have to agree, i dont like sing the sorrow a ton, but from the few songs i've heard, their other stuff is pretty impressive.

I really like AFI. I never really gave them a chance, but holy shit, theyare fucking awesome.
I didn't like the "Girl's Not Grey" video though. It reminded me way to much of Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box video.

I should look past that.
Just wanted to say...totally off subject...but Chritina is one tiny little fucker. She comes up to my chest

Stop joking short people, grrrrrrrrrr.
The thing that I hate the most about MTV is they're basically telling kids what to like...and they don't question that. (insert name here) dresses like this, so i should too. No one thinks for themselves anymore.
Britney Spears has a very deep voice when she "sings"... i think she's pretty manly when it comes to that. Maybe she is a man...
The other thing that I hate about the MTV awards is they always have the "best new artist" who have had a bunch of albums out before, but now that one gets big, they're new. No. They're not. It's kind of like that bullshit baseball thing where Ichiro Suzuki won the rookie of the year, yet he played major league baseball in Japan. Stuff like that is so dumb.

For some weird reason my dad watched it. Then he started asking me all these weird questions about the awards. Like "whats the difference between hip-hop and rap" or "why are there like 7 category's for rap and r&b and that sort of thing but only one rock category?"
I'm starting to think he has a point.

So which is better, old AFI or new AFI?
"I'll call the new coke, uhh, new coke! And I'll call the old coke... uhhh old coke! Yeah!"
(sorry about that

the question still stands though..?)

Here's what I don't like about MTV.
Everything.
Let me break this down for all you people that obviously want to hear me rant.
MTV doesn't play music videos anymore, and my only other options to see music videos would be either to watch VH1 (no), BET (fuck no), or CMT (God help me). On top of that, MTV makes a second music channel, which for me to be able to watch, I would have to buy 15 other channels and pay an extra $20 a month on my cable bill. And on top of that, 11 months out of the year, MTV2 decides to have a black music month. Thanks, the black music channel wasn't enough, I obviously need to watch more shake your ass rap. Thanks MTV2!
And when MTV actually does play music videos, it's either a stupid "Video Battle" show that puts two obnoxious pop songs against each other and you have to pay to vote on your phone for the winner. No thanks. I don't like paying to see Michelle Branch so I don't have to put up with Avril Lavigne.
And MTV still shows TRL daily. There's your quality music show. Let's play 1/5 of a music video and interview people completely unrelated to music for 40 minutes of the hour! Yes, and let's cram as many stupid contests for the crowd into the show too! That is great! And to make things worse, the top 10 has to be a fucking lie. First off, they give you the choice of 30 videos, 25 of which are either rap or pop videos that you don't want to see. Then when you look at the top ten, it's of 10 bands with stupid videos. If you're inquisitve like I am, you'll find out that none of the top ten videos are from bands that are actually selling well. With the exclusion of the occasional 50 Cent or Eminem on the list, the other bands that get on there are seriously struggling with their sales. It makes you wonder why the bands that sell well, bands like The White Stripes and Hot Hot Heat, never get on there. It's clearly what the people want. Oh yeah, that's right, they're not even an option for TRL. That makes sense. Oh well, as long as MTV makes sure I can see Good Charlotte, Lillix, and other craptastic bands, my life will be better.
And this is why I drink.

the majority is new AFI. musically and lyrically. old AFI is basically a mediocre hardcore band, but it was a lot of fun, so if that's your thing then that's your thing.
but yeah, there are distinct differences between those two eras, it's not just something an elitist fan made up.

My feelings precisely.
