I must admit I'm a Yurtle the Turtle fan...
last year we sat in a circle and had story time with that book.

breathe. my god. an AMAZING book. i took it out from the library in early november of last year and read it straight for the 3 weeks i could have it for. i recently felt the urge to take it out again and did the same thing. your lucky its cheap in the states but its 17.50 here in canada. its never failed me. oh fuck. a truely great book. i love charlie

If you are looking for some fiction, I'd suggest, John Case's book The Syndrome or any of his books really. I like his style, usually takes about 100 pages to pick up and then you find yourself reading it late at night to finish it up in a couple of days.

"Prince of Tides" by Pat Conroy.......the dude sleeps with his sisters shrink in that book for cryin out loud!

I'm reading Great Expectations... you expect it to be all dry and Dickensian, of course, but I'm actually really really getting into it. I finally got used to the way he commands the language and, once you understand his English, it's actually quite a hysterical and gripping book
I'm very pleasantly surprised. Not at all what I remember from the last time I tried to read it (waaay too young). Oh, and don't mind the slow beginning. It's worth it, trust me.
