I just bought the Half-Life Platinum Collection. Mmm... All five games for $54.
I've just started Half-Life. I haven't installed the others yet. I'm going to try to get through Half-Life first.

WTF?
I've gotton on to what I assume is some sort of roof, and turned a big lever for "Surface Access". I then went through one of the surface access doors, and was caught (which, from panicingly checking online guides, I know is normal). Now I'm blacked out. And I'm waiting. And waiting. And waiting. How long am I supposed to be blacked out? Is this supposed to happen?
Then, I tried hitting some buttons. When I hit "jump" I heard myself jump. I then heard what sounded like loud footsteps. After a time, they became quieter. And I'm waiting. And waiting. Ang waiting. Nothing. I know the game didn't freeze, because I could still go to the menu, and could still flick my flashlight on and off (which doesn't brighten things up at all

).
What the hell is going on? I don't think I'm supposed to be blacked out for this long.
I've got no earlier save files. I'd rather not start over again. I saved right after being captured (DUMBASS!

)

methinks that ain't right, you'd probably be best off starting over again with a patch.. but it's been a while since I played, so don't take my word for it.

The game's too old to get the patch. No sites give enough bandwidth to it. It's either completely unavailable, or it will take 2hrs+ to download.
I re-started the game. It won't take too long to get back there, because I know how to do everything.
It's going to be annoying going through some stuff again though...

Heh, I'm already back "On a Rail".
Boo-yah!

Woo! I got past it!
I think it was because I interrupted it to save the first time.
Now I'm experiencing some "Surface Tension".
Yeesh, this game is getting hard.

I've already had to start the game again twice (that^ was the second time).
The first time the gate to the power station (where you kill the first Gargantua) was closed, for some reason.
The second time was the glitchy blackout thing.
I'm getting good at the first part of the game. I know how to do everything very quickly...
