It kind of brings home the difference between an actual connection with someone and the very powerful but very different connection you can have with someone as a fan.

We don't really care outside of an abstract idea of "love your fellow man" what happens to him, but we'd probably be sad that there will be no more music.

True. Very true.

Exactly.

I'd care much more if I knew it was true...but I was skeptical from the moment I heard about it.

I would have cared had Raine been paralyzed/dead. That would mean NO more new albums, NO more new tours, and a complete lack of subject matter at the CM 8-)
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

not to mention the guy would be paralyzed/dead....
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

Pardon my ignorance, but i haven't read the last couple pages, but other than no one else saying anything about this(officially), was there anything else said that proves that this was 'just' a rumor? Other no press in Canada (especially) proving otherwise.

Umm he played a show last night .. he can't perform if he's dead or paralyzed .. plus I double checked on the CC .. it's false .. the dj even said it was a hoax (apparently)

I was under the impression of this all happened after the show last night.

Even though if he was paralyzed my first guess would be that he fell off something during the show. But that is not the case. And i didn't know that the dj said it was a hoax. so thanks. :)

Don't even start. There's nothing on the 89x website. They would definitely put something up if their sponsored concert was cancelled.

When would he have done that? I didn't see any potential bungee jumping spots in Hamburg.

I heard that Raine was the third gunman on the grassy knoll. and he's got Jimmy Hoffa hidden in his basement. in his spare time he makes elaborate crop circles in wheat fields in Britian. oh yeah, and he killed Tupac Shakur.

:freak:
