I won't lie, I barely listen to them anymore either.. But if it wasn't literally financially impossible for me to do so, I would have dropped everything to go to the Sydney and St. John's shows.

Up until a couple days ago, I hadn't listened to an OLP album in full in probably about 2 years.. What I have done though basically every day for the last month or so? Yup, that's right. Check their myspace for a Halifax date.

I gave up these guys years ago and I would've went to this show simply because they put on a good show. simple as that.

Well, obviously it's not impossible, because everyone likes to talk about bands they know who do it, but It's an awful lot to ask.

I think it would not be too hard... I mean, you shouldn't expect them to be ready to play any song on any given night but I would expect them to be familiar and practiced enough to offer some variety from night to night, and occasionally pull some surprises out of the bag from time to time... when some bands such as Radiohead go on tour they'll easily perform over 50 different songs before the end... and sometimes they will make mistakes but it is also not good to play a stale setlist.

Aside from rehearsal time before going on tour, they are also able to rehearse before every show during soundcheck... it's the perfect time to practice songs that you haven't played in a while and avoid half-assed performances.

A few years ago, playing "new" old songs was probably difficult because of Steve... but he has been in the band for 6 years now, and I am sure he's tried out just about all of their songs by now in private if not with the rest of the group.

Well yes. I am always cool and aloof. Until I fucking ran to the front barricade to get a good spot. lol. Then I was like a 12 year old seeing Miley Cyrus. OMGGGG RAINE TOUCHED MEEEEE.... hahahahhahaha.

But then there was this month long gap between being excited because of tickets and being excited before the show. I was way more excited at the prospect of seing a show... in general. Honestly, the first time I listened to them in like... years was when we drove to the show.
(Well if you want to be technical, when I drove home from school that day I had them on too. But that was only like an hour apart!)
You guys get a ridiculous number of bands coming and going. Any show that comes here that is remotely listenable is worth going to. I think the last concert I saw, that wasn't in a club was in February of 2007.

Furthermore.....(Since I appear to be outraged at the idea of missing a concert here, lol) Would anyone here NOT go to a concert by any band that was once their absolute favorite? I'm not talking like Ace of Base or anything, but a real favorite band. There are a lot of bands that I used to love and don't anymore, and I'm pretty sure I would drop what I was doing in a heartbeat to go see any of them. And OLP is definitely on that list. Although, I don't think Creed is anymore...

Well, my music preferences have changed a lot in the past 2.. maybe 3 years. Up until probably sometime in 2006, I had a terrible taste in music. If you name a popular, crappy rock band around that time, I probably listened to them. Then I started listening to Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, and Seether. They aren't the best of the bunch, but better than what I used to listen to. Then sometime in late 2006, early 2007 I started getting really into grunge. Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden. Then I started listening to OLP. I have heard of them because I used to love wrestling, so I loved "Whatever." Then someone posted the lyrics to Not Enough on MySpace, so I was inspired to look up more of their material on YouTube and have been hooked since. Now I'm getting into some older bands as well, as Pink Floyd is pretty high on my list now, and I like the Beatles psychodelic-styled music, but not so much their pop...

So yeah, to put it simply, if I'm not listening now, I probably don't care if I see them.

That's really odd. I just did a username search using both "*minds*" and "*loan*" and nobody else came up. I SWEAR there was someone else with that nick or something really close.

Possibly "All My Friends" is slipping into your subconcious? Lol, that's all I can think of that it'd be. I actually found CM back in June because I was Googling "Yourself" to see if I could find a torrent of it, and CM came up.
