Also, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
I really really hate this whole female thing. Dude, those tampax commercials about how being a girl rocks are LIES! Not that I'm bitter at all...
So anyways, the reason for this angry post: I've got a fucking bladder infection. and it fucking burns like hell when I pee, but it didn't occur to me until today to look up my symptoms on the web, and i had every one listed. I go to the doctor and he gives me some antibiotics, but it won't go away for a couple days at least. On top of this, i've got some crazy hunched-over-in-pain stomach/pains that may or may not be releated. In summary: OW.
Avoid prolonged activities that can aggravate bladder infections, such as bicycling, horseback riding

basically those are the only activities i've done in the past week. no wonder riding on thursday wasn't the most fun experience of my life. ALSO, my assface of a boyfriend started making fun of me, and i'm like DUDE. do you have any idea how one gets such infections? then he wants me to like explain step by step how he caused it and i'm just like....uh, how bout not talking about my anatomy right now...yeah.
fuck you world

Aww, man, bladder infections SUUUUUUUUUUUCK.
thirdhour wrote:I'm with you Nikki. I've tried tampons a total of two times, the first time was when I first got my period, so like 5 years ago. It took like ten minutes to get it in, and then when I finally did, it hurt so much that I only lasted a few minutes before I HAD to take it out. The second time was a couple months ago, but once I got it in, I couldn't get it out because it felt like it was stuck and ripping something. That scared me off them for good. I guess I'll just always use pads. *shrug*
Glad I'm not the only one!!! And yeah, that ripping sensation when removing it... is very VERY scary... not to mention painful. Ugh. I hate tampons.

That's actually a misconception.... the calendar method is highly unreliable because you never know quite what might happen.
I learned about it exstensively in phys and anat last year! Yes, it is sort of a misconception because one can never be CERTAIN when they will ovulate, but if you don't have sex in that time period, there is no freaking way you can get pregnant. That is why I want to be ok with having kids as soon as I get married, so if that does happen, then it won't be the end of the world. Ovulation is usually the most predictable part of your cycle, almost always 14 days in. But menstruation is really unpredictable.

I variate between tampons and pads. Depends on my mood, really.
I also love being on the pill 'cause it keeps my cycle insanely stable. I know exactly when I'm going to get my period, and it saves me SO much stress.

I can't deal with pads, you have to change them too frequently and they are so uncomfortable and diaper-like and, well, they smell
And Yannic.... drink lots of cranberry juice!!

I'm with you on the anti-tampon thing
I had to use some for the first time in about 10 or 12 years when I was on holiday this year because I really wanted to go swimming. As they're teeny these days they were much better to put in and being in than the enormous ones you used to have to buy, but I still really really hate taking them out.

What a very informative thread indeed. I get the feeling I don't belong here though. I'm taking my penis and going home *leaves*

It really sounds like you guys are using much too high an absorbency, or not leaving them in long enough. They should slide out wetly.
*is sure rusty is gone now

I didn't have any cranberry juice, so I had some lemonade instead. The antibiotics are starting to work, thank gawd.

They DO sell them for a reason, Cass.

That's definitely not the problem... when I take them out they're definitely saturated. Still hurts, though. And for me, there's no such thing as too high an absorbency.
Oh, and guys... feel free to stick around. Any guy that can read/listen to this stuff and not run away is very cool, in my book. It's a natural process we have to deal with monthly, and learning more about it can make you understand us a little better.
