In my religion, the leaders are people from the congregation. In order to get to heaven, marriage is required. So, we don't have any leaders who AREN'T married. That's why it's weird to me.

If I remember correctly from world religions class, they can yes. Orthodox jews are very strict about members of the opposite sex though. They cannot be left alone in the same room with each other and such. Also the marriages are usually arranged. Just thought I'd share. *leaves*
