improper french alert!!
it'd be more helpful if you pointed out the errors

i constantly struggle with french.
no problem, you're just missing the word "êtes" after vous. so essentially you're saying, "Ah David Bowie, you immortal?" except not in english slang where you just cut out some words, like "hey, you cool?" it's just actually incorrect in french.
It's a common misconception that having the "est" when posing a question like "est-ce que... blah blah blah" will go with any further used verbs, especially since "est" is only used with Il or Elle, so vous would need a different tense all together which would generally be êtes or avez.
So actually I believe the way you're actually looking to say it, instead of "est-ce que vous êtes immortel?" would probably be "êtes-vous immortel?"
I might be wrong, but I'm fairly sure. It's been a few years since I've really used french in written form, but the whole verb conjugation system has forever been burned into my mind.
actually, you're right...i should have just used êtes-vous immortel? thanks
i wish the conjugation system would burn into my mind. it seems however long i study and practice, it all just blurs together.
But dammit....one day i will get it all right!

you need to speak french around me more often. i may understand only four words, but it'll sound neato, and that's all that matters.

It's impressive that you remember anything.
I stopped taking french after Junior High and I don't remember a thing. One time I forgot how to say Thank You.
And the words I do remember I pronounce with some strange english-spanish-terribleatfrench accent.

that's cause i can actually understand what you're attempting to say when you're speaking english. however, i'd barely understand french, so you wouldn't get weird looks while speaking it. you'd probably dig yourself into fewer holes if you only spoke french, cause i'd think you were just saying things like "look how lovely the freshly fallen snow appears to be, as it glistens".
seriously, speaking another language around me just makes you into an instant genius.

Well I was in french immersion, so most of my classes were in french for 13 years.

that really doesn't sound like something I'd say in any language. Plus, we both know I'm a genius and deserve the super genius of the universe award.

"the enemy is not outside. the enemy is much closer to home. the enemy...is in your kitchen!"
"maybe while the enemy's in there he can do some dishes."

i keep stumbling upon posts of yours i never replied to.
and that could very well be something you say. hell, i never thought you'd say 'smack that'. repeatedly. but now...
although talking poetically about glistening snow will impress the ladies much more than reciting an Akon song.

Dear Sir,
I object strongly to the obvious lavatorial turn this show has already taken. Why do we never hear about the good things in Britain, like Mary Bignall's wonderful jump in 1964?
Yours etc.,
