My dad just walked in and fucking bitched me out for thinking that it was in my jurisdiction whether or not I should watch a 14A movie. Apparently I'm a "baby" and I "need to have decisions made for me."

Direct quotes, ladies and gentlemen.

FUCK. HIM.

The course of my education, and probably future career and the rest of my life, is about to change because I don't have the time or talent to put together a portfolio before January 15th with 15 or 20 examples of creative work like freehand drawing, painting, sculpture, and graphic design.

How does the Canadian movie rating system work?

Haha I went to Montreal last year and me and my friend went to the movies and we were so confused. The R-rated movies said like 14something or soemthing like that and we were like "wow, they let 14-year-olds see movies that would be rated R in the US?"

You couldn't say freak? How is that even a bad word?

Cuz I'd get mad and say for example "that freakin' loser" or something .. so it's taking place of what I'd really like to say which is "that fuckin' loser" so it was a bad thing to say :)

I don't swear around my parents. I remember one time a few years ago I decided to test the waters and say "shit" in front of my mom. It was not a good idea...

That's true, but I don't see the big deal in swearing in general, parents just made a big deal out of it. Although I think swearing is stupid in itself. I think I'll stop contradicting myself now.

yeah, I know...but if you just think about it...they're just words. Society is what makes them "offensive"

I dont think my parents care too much outside of sh*t and f*ck... I dont have any need to swear around them though so it doesn't bother me...

..... Canada movies have AA meaning adult acompanyment for kids under 14 or something, and a lot of the R movies in the U.S. are only AA here... we still have the occaisional R movie though
