How does the Canadian movie rating system work?

Haha I went to Montreal last year and me and my friend went to the movies and we were so confused. The R-rated movies said like 14something or soemthing like that and we were like "wow, they let 14-year-olds see movies that would be rated R in the US?"

I don't swear around my parents. I remember one time a few years ago I decided to test the waters and say "shit" in front of my mom. It was not a good idea...

yeah, I know...but if you just think about it...they're just words. Society is what makes them "offensive"

I dont think my parents care too much outside of sh*t and f*ck... I dont have any need to swear around them though so it doesn't bother me...


..... Canada movies have AA meaning adult acompanyment for kids under 14 or something, and a lot of the R movies in the U.S. are only AA here... we still have the occaisional R movie though

i don't really ever sware infront of my parents but my one sister does alot and my mom always like stop but in a giddy way but when my brother whos older than my sister does she jumps down his throat. weird.
