Both times I installed Ad-Aware on my machine, it immediately screwed things up so bad that I had no other choice but to format.
It's a piece of crap.

Windows Media Player is driving me INSANE. It keeps shifting all my MP3s around and renaming the folders and taking the pretty pictures of the album covers off. It's misbehaving and it's making me angry

Winamp's the way to go.
And, Joey... SP2 is a piece of crap... I installed it too, and I wish I hadn't. I don't really know what to tell you to do to fix it, short from formatting and reinstalling Windows.

Its pretty simple.
Put XP cd in CD drive. Reboot your computer. When you reboot your computer and it says Press Del. to go into setup. Do that. I have no idea what your BIOS looks like but you'll have to poke around for something that says Boot Sequence and that will have a number of options attached to it. Change the first option to your CD drive. F10 saves and exits. Computer reboots. Computer then boots from CD instead of HDD and goes into windows setup. Read all the jargon go through it all. It will ask you if you want to format or install XP on the existing partition without formatting. Choose that

and everything afterwards is pretty simple and straightforward. Follow screen prompts.

Yeah, but I'm thinking SP2'll leave crap behind if she just does that.

Supposedly you can't have any spyware on your system when you install service pack two.

Nikki nope, because it deletes the previous windows directory.
Rusty again a fallacy. SP@ just makes it more spyware proof.

It's my answer to Windows problems. Possibly because it's the only thing that ever fixes my dumb computer when it starts acting weird.
