Just thought of something... you guys carry those around in your wallets? They tell us not to carry our Social Security Cards around with us.

i know. people just really suck. and they probably took my license to sell to kids as a fake id.
i found the place to get my license reissued. it is only about a 10 minute drive, so i am wondering if i should risk it and drive there on my own or if i should ask my neighbour to give me a ride. i'm scared that if i go on my own, the people at the place may be all like how did you get here? did you drive here? and i end up getting in trouble because i drove without a license. i'm such a freak

Just lie. They aren't going to care that much.
I carry my social security card with me...why not? It's not like there aren't a million other places they could get your ss w/o your consent.

You should be safe, just dont give the po-lice any reason to stop you. However if they do stop, tell them that your wallet was stolen and that you're on your way to get you licence renewed. You should be fine.

9 days to Dashboard!
Good luck Lori. Like Grandma said...nothing is ever as bad as it seems. It's true, just not till after it's done

yeah... with your sin card anyone can see pretty well anything about you with the right means of accessing it.
Plus if they wanted to file for a credit card or something under your name it would be no problem to pull off.
lori, just drive w/out your license to the renewal place, if you get pulled over on the way to get a new one, i'm sure the cops would understand. you really wouldnt get in much trouble i'm willing to bet.
then when you get there it might take a week or so for them to make a new card... have them give you a temporary slip and you've got no worries.

Yep, I was told that with your birth certificate and SIN, someone could basically steal your identity. So, never keep them in the same wallet, at least.
