I like doing a lot of fancier stuff and lots of stuff with layers and blending options... I don't rely too heavily on filters; most of them are silly looking anyways and I never bother to download new ones.

The Live one cracks me up. They really do look like that, specially creepy Jer.

Stever looks adorable in that one, though.
Oh, and Andrea, you do know that PSP has layers and all that fun stuff, too, right?

I use layers all the time.

This is photoshops definition of a layer.
"Layers allow you to work on one element of an image without disturbing the others. Think of layers as sheets of acetate stacked one on top of the other. Where there is no image on a layer, you can see through to the layers below. You can change the composition of an image by changing the order and attributes of layers. In addition, special features such as adjustment layers, fill layers, and layer styles let you create sophisticated effects."
The simplest example of multiple layers would be the CM banner. If that image was in png formatt in photoshop or any other high end paint program, the image of raine would be one layer while the clumsymonkey text would be the second layer over top the raine image.

Of COURSE I knew that. I just think that layers in PS are more customizable and more user friendly than in PSP >__>

*sigh*
Layers just allow you to edit parts of your photograph or image your creating much easier. They allow you to get certain effects you cannot achieve with say.. paint. Effects like transparency for instance. You can have one image on one layer with its transparency set to 50%, allowing you to see the image under it. Again think of it like overhead sheets. Clear except for the image or text on it, allowing you to see everything under it. Most images i create are the result of multiple layers laying on top of each other.
If your still confused... then i must explain things horribly.
