You're right. But I'm not justifying Iraq. You're justifying 9/11.
I would hardly call Hiroshima a mistake. Nagasaki may have been unnecessary. However, the bombs instantly ended a war that otherwise would have lasted several more years with millions more dead. Every man, woman, and child was still ready to fight with rocks and sticks before they would give up. I believe the Chinese suffered enough torture and "biological experiments" from the Japanese Empire to warrant the bombing.

Well we know that now. The bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima were the first of their kind. All that was known was that they made a big boom. The destruction was actually undercalculated and the longterm anomilies were an unfortunate side effect.
But let me ask you this. Do you know anyone that fought in WWII? If so, what is their feeling about the bombs being dropped? Ask them. I'm curious. If they say that it was completely unnecessary then I'll gladly concede.
I recently visited Pearl Harbor and went to the USS Arizona that still resides underwater. It is truly an emotional experience and really makes you understand what an awful era that time period was.
Anyways... we're getting way off topic. I just want to know what event brought on 9/11 but that question is obviously never going to get answered.

My Grandfather fought for Britain. I dont know if that counts, but i do know after the war, he became extremely Anti-War. He disagrees to this day about what happened in Hiroshima. Does that count?

Wow, thanks to everyone for grouping all Americans (and then seperately, Canadians) together. Appreciate that. Really helps this community feel so nice and friendly.
Not all of us in this country are pro-war and ignorant to the fact that our government and military have done horrible things to other countries. But that doesn't mean we should've expected 9/11, and (thankfully, none of you flat out said this, and I'm hoping none of you believe it either) we certainly didn't deserve it, either.
How about we stop arguing about pointless facts (and running around in circles avoiding each other's questions) that only push us further apart than we already are on this board and all agree that the ORIGINAL, preposterous conspiracy theory mentioned in this thread was wrong, disgusting, and insulting to any of the families of anyone who was on that plane... and anyone who cares at all about humanity, for that matter.
K? K.
Oh yeah, and you guys don't have a choice in this matter, by the way. I'm locking this thread before it gets any uglier.
