They still make amazing quality games, there's just a lot more games being produced, so there are a lot more bad ones too.
We just have a lot of respect for those older games because we didn't have 10 billion to choose from so the quality ones stand out.
So do the shitty ones, but it's the quality ones I'm talking about.
In the words of Norm Macdonald
"You Know what hurts the most? It's the lack of respect that hurts the most! Well that and the other thing, but the lack of respect hurts the second most! Rediculous..."
That's no exact quote... It's too late to say it correctly...

Deus Ex: Invisible War ****/*****
If you liked the first, you might like this one. It's got an amazing storyline in which you have to make some major choices. Though no choice is really good (what with the corruption on every side), it's a matter of choosing the lesser of a few evils to do jobs for. I feel very conflicted through the whole game. It's very good.
However, that's where the good stuff ends. Remember when Deus Ex was almost an RPG? Not any more. No more experience points. It used to be that, for example, when you used the pistol, you'd gain pistol experience, making your aim better and even your shots more powerful. Not in this one. Now there's no experience.
Another doewnside is that they got rid of the health system. It used to be that your health was divided between each leg, each arm, head and body. That way, you'd have to divide up your health-pack points between them, deciding what you want to heal, and how much you want to heal it. Also, when your leg got too low on health, you'd have to crawl. When your arm got too low, your aim would be shitty. But NO! Let's take that away too! In Deus Ex 2, it's just your plain old 0-100 health bar. Woo.
Yet another problem. In the first, apparently they got a lot of complaints about ammo. You see, you would get some super-amazing super-weapon, that used super-amazing super-ammo. You'd only get to use the weapon once or twice, then you'd be out of super-ammo, and you'd have to go back to your other guns. No big deal, but they decided to "fix" it for the sequal. Now, every weapon uses the same ammo (the ammo is made with nanotechnology, so it can conform to any weapon). Better weapons use more ammo per shot. So, when you get a super-amazing super-weapon, you use super-huge ammounts of your regular ammo until you can't use your super-amazing super-weapon any more. But then, what the hell?! Now you can't use any weapon because you've wasted all of your ammo on the super-amazing super-weapon.
Alright, enough with the bad. Thus far the storyline and gameplay are absolutely amazing. Compared to the first, it's crap. However, compared to most other games on the market, it's still one hell of a game.

I think the reduction of the RPG elements ect, were taken away due to Ion Storms attemp to make Deus Ex 2 more console friendly. Seeing as it was released on the X-box they probably assumed that most of the people who picked up the game for the box wouldnt enjoy being bogged down by a complex experience system, and would rather just shoot things like in Halo.
I agree though, taking out a lot of the elements that made Deus Ex unique was a bad idea.
On another note, Metriod Prime is the best shooter i've ever played for any system whether that be on a computer or console. You cant really consider it a straight shooter though. More like a adventure/shooter. Anyway i digress.

^ Sure will.
Huge News For Nintendo Fans today.
It appears that Nintendo has an answer to Sony's PSP. Nintendo's new game deck, code named the Nintendo DS will be shown off at E3. What is it exactly? Apparently a new hand held with dual screens, dual proccessors and 1 gig of memory. Plus nintendo is continuing its partnership with IBM and will be using the same chip going into the PS3, and Xbox 2... but in a hand held. Rumour has it that the new system will be able to play Game Cube games among other things.
Anyway at first i was a little shocked at the announcment.. even a little sceptical. I mean.. 2 screens? However after thinking a little i think it would be rather awesome. For example you could be playing an RPG and on one screen you'd be viewing the world map, and on the other you'd see your item menu, ect ect. Handy.
My biggest question is how its gonna look though. They obviously cant go with a format like they did with the original gameboy advance. I have an idea about what it may look like though. Time to break out my photoshop skills.
