I don't know about you, but Steve sings almost to all the songs, and Duncan does also. . Also OLP are having fun on stage now. I guess everybody sees things differently. I have noticed that Raine is interacting more with the band-which is a big step for him. I don't just mean the whole B-Man thing. He is also interacting with Jeremy and Duncan. the shows I saw this year(with 3dd) have been some of the best shows I have seen.

BTW, where did you guys get No Warning?

hub... the quality is terrible. But underneath all the screaming and crappy quality... it's really not a bad song.

You know... personally, i feel that the new songs are really really growing on me. I can really see some of them being some classic olp songs in the future.

And about this whole sounding like U2 thing. I think raine didn't mean he wants to sound like old U2, i think he was just using them as an example of what we can expect the new cd to sound like.

as long as there is a band sound, at least some quality lyrics in there along with Raine's falsettos -- I'm all good. I was attracted to OLP with Raine's vocal stylings first off. Never heard that so craaazzzzzy before, then the awesome MIKE TURNER guitar, then lyrics. We already lost my 2nd reason for loving OLP, i dont want to lose the rest -- although gravity made a good attempt at that!! :GASP:

I don't think there will be any falcettos on this cd. Raine can't really do them anymore and Bob Rock only wants the band to record things that they can do live.

Nope he said they were hoping to get it like old/early u2 sound. I said to him Naveed sounded like old/early u2 to me. If that is the case then the new cd will be in the same vain Naveed was. He just smiled. I think to date that Naveed is their edgiest/hardest sounding cd. . You have to remember, Raine was influenced greatly by BONO as a singer and probably a songwriter. Also Mike Turner was greatly influenced by The Edge(he told me-I didn't read this somewhere) he said the Edge and Brian May is what influenced him as a guitar player. No different them some of you on here who have influences. I tell you that WTSOYF sounds like a u2 song to me. Then again-I am very familar with u2's music.

eihter way it will be OLP to me. if you listen careful you can hear they have developed a somewhat of a sound now. :D

Yeah, i think every cd has a certain sound though... I think this cd will be closer to Naveed than Gravity which is a very very good thing!

Personally I hope this CD (Bob) does not restrict Steve's talent, because it is rather obvious that he is extremely gifted.

Everytime I hear him play Starseed I cream myself

In addition, if OLP wants more teeny bopper fans, these songs aren't the way to go (which is very good). Gravity clearly had the poppier sounding songs.

Do I think they can do better? Absolutely. At least I hope so. I mean, it's not like 10 years passed in between SM and this album.

But I will do with an improvement for now, and it is clear it's happening.
