That pit was one of the roughest i've ever seen... and definitley the roughest i can remember at an OLP show. And that Calgary-Edmonton crack was interesting.... I could have sworn the Calgary fans were louder (but then again.. i'm a biased Calgarian :D )

Great show though. Much better than back in January. The new songs sounded great.... Great to hear Acoustic Thief. Wish they had played OMA though.

Also was impressed by 3DD, Seether, Swollen Members, Theory of a Deadman and 3EB.

Matt Good's set was one of the worst i've seen out of him. Treble Charger was dissapointing too. IMO, Everclear was by far the worst. Art couldn't sing to save his life.

The storms were great, the lightning looked really nice.

Yeah, it was funny that he kept calling us Edmonton. He probably assumed that since Edmonton's way closer to Camrose than Calgary, more Edmontonians came. I heard Edmonton was louder...

I'm with Raine on the moshing. It's freakin' annoying! I dunno, but people who mosh seem to care more about the moshing part than the actual music. I started cheering for Raine when he told that one guy to "take a break" and the guy beside me was like "Yeah!" There was a lot of clapping in my section (just behind the right barrier between the moshers and the people who just wanted to stand) when Raine told that guy to give him a minute of his time.

I seriously thought there would be an encore...:(

I cannot describe how much I love "Wipe The Smile Off Your Face". That song is SO good! During "Walking In Circles", the light went down on Raine and maybe it's just me, but he looked the way he did in the video for "Superman's Dead".

Treble Charger was pretty good but could have done without the lapdancing. That was horrible and so many people thought it was funny, but it was just wrong. I mean, I saw a few kids who couldn't be older than 10 there!

So I wasn't the only one who thought that the lead singer from Everclear didn't sound that great! The guitarist they got at the end was really good, though! I admit I thought they'd pick some person who had no idea how to play that song on guitar but man, that guy was awesome! He could be in a band if he wants to!

I'm pissed I missed Matt Good (although you mentioned that he had a bad set) and Third Eye Blind! I would have missed Third Eye Blind anyway because my dad had to work the next day so we were planning to leave at 9pm but when it started raining really hard during Sam Robert's performance (which was awesome and it's unfortunate that it was cut short...my dad was impressed by him) and it didn't seem like it would stop raining so we decided to come home.

But all in all, Stage 13 was a really good experience...hopefully, next year though, it doesn't rain.
And if I don't make it known that
I've loved you all along
Just like sunny days that
We ignore because
We're all dumb and jaded
And I hope to God I figure out
What's wrong

That was the third time i've seen everclear live and they're always pretty terrible. I think they probably just not reherse for live shows very much and so it just turns into a jam session on stage. plus Art has no clue how to sing into a mic, I think if he learned how to do that better he'd be able to hear himself better and wouldn't be so out of key all the time. But, in their favour, they are always pretty energetic and that guy playing santa monica made their set for me so I was happy. also did anyone see how freakin huge craig's cabinet was? that thing was a beast.

I thought Treble Charger was funny as hell, they always are a lot of fun though. In Craven they also had two girls rub sun tan lotion on each other. The "proper technique" is what they called it. It's not as bad as Sum 41 who has 2 girls make out on stage and do other stuff... and they have a lot more young fans then TC!

As for the moshing. Raine wasn't too upset, he just doesn't want to see anyone get hurt. He knows it's going to be like that at a festival because people didn't pay just to go see OLP. Festivals are always like that because of so many different people there for different fans and unfortunately a lot of drunkeness. Which in turn causes a lot of injury. It's expected though.

I still think Everclear would have been better if they were louder. Turn up the guitars, etc... they were by far the quietest band there. I came into the pit into the second song of theirs and from back at the MTV blow up stand thingy it wasn't half as loud as most bands...

3EBs second half of the show was a lot better than the first. The lead singer didn't seem all that into it, he just seemed to be faking it. Pretending like he was. He seemed really phoney to me, until later on... but then again people from Hollywood are pretty phoney...

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention how much Dakona impressed me. They're pretty damn good!!! I got a drumstick from them and throughout the second day we got one Theory of a deadman pic, one Saliva pic and 2 3rd Eye Blind pics!! We had 2 TOADM pics but my bro gave one away.

Lando wrote:Raine has a really cool echo-y intro to starseed as I'm sure many of you know, and it was WAAAAAAAAY Longer at Craven, as well as the ending to starseed, where they all hit their instruments, over and over, that was really long at craven, but pretty short at S13.

Also another thing was at Craven, Raine sang Thief really weird. Nothing like the album version

Yeah, That Intro for Starseed was pretty gnarly. It was rather long to. I could catch what he was saying but oh well, its all good!!

Theif was pretty sweet as well. I liked th way he sang it.

......and no, they didn't play One Man Army. :(

I wish they woulda played Trapeze or Stealing Babies

I wish I coulda made it down to S13 :(

hey, don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of everclear, I've got most of their albums, I just don't think they're a very good live band. I think they probably could be if they wanted to, but it just seems like they don't try to be.

I was still there in the pit for the rest of olp, I just got moved around a bunch by all the drunkards. I got lost in the rain too, trying to find my car for about an hour. driving home in that storm wasn't fun either, but you gotta go to extremes for olp.

They never did that at the Sum 41 concert I went to! :wtf:

Maybe it's just me but Raine did seem a little ticked off at the guy who wouldn't stop moshing there...

I missed Dakona! Ughh...but then I've never heard of them, either.

I'm not a big fan of Theory of a Deadman but they were pretty good! It started raining during their performance and when we ran to the entrance place, this girl was like "Who cares? They suck anyway." I was thinking "No, they don't!".

Man, I really hope Wipe That Smile Off Your Face gets released as a single on the next album.

I'd like to, but I was looking for ya, there were only like 2 smaller security guards. The pit was pretty good this time. I don't think security had too many people causing problems for them.
