emily wrote:sorry, I like kinda far away, although yseterday on Planetside a guy told me he'd give anything for me to live within 30 miles of him. anyways, the guy I'm in love with I've been friends with for 2 years and have liked him the whole time. he told me he liked me just a month ago, but didnt want to move too fast because he didn't want to ruin our friendship. i don't know if he still likes me but i think he does. what am i to do??

I say go for it.
I was best friends with my current girlfriend for 3 years before we decided to give it a shot last year. We've been together now for over a year and neither or us could be happier. It's really nice cause there's no need to figure out eachother's little quirk and such, the only difficult thing is the physical aspect but if you take it slow, and not let that encompass every moment of the relationship than it works out really well.

I think he was saying that to me... lately he's apparently had a problem with me... not too sure yet why...

anyways Emily I say go for it, at least make an attempt because you never know what might happen, and you don't wanna be sitting around wondering what may have been.

ok then I was just basing my comment on some other things you've said in the last few weeks. Sorry.
That does suck, but I don't think just because it happens to one person it's going to happen to another. I'm not saying that we're staying together for life but for the last year we haven't had any problems with the transition from best friends to having a relationship and that's what i was just trying to tell Emily

Yeah, not too many people have normal relationships when they're young. I mean, people, you don't want to find your perfect other when you're still a teenager. You're going to have to go through shit before you can find some one worth your time. Or you can be dumb and go out with some one for eight months and stick around even though she won't even tell you that she likes you. Yeah, I should walk away, but Alan = stupid.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I dunno, the way I feel is that age doesn't mean a lot. I feel like I already know what type of girl I want and that I can see myself with. I guess my way of thinking is that it wouldn't be worth having a relationship with someone if I didn't think she had future potential. Of course most people don't think that way.

that is a good way to think see i never saw future potential but i stayed with a girl for 3 years and knew nothing was ever going to come of it but i used it as security.

ya once it's only for security you have to step back and try and figure out what's going on, and whether maybe there's something more there or whether it's just a waste to continue it.

sounds exactly like my last relationship except mine was 2 years, you'd think after that long that they wouldn't cheat

I did...
There's something from my profile that will sum up my feelings:

You know you're in love when you can say anything to the person and you know he won't laugh at you. When you can see his face when you close your eyes. When you can still feel his arms around you holding you tight long after he is gone. When you can still taste his kiss after you have said goodbye. When you miss him before he is gone. When his voice lingers in your ears. When his presence eases any pain. When his name sends chills down your spine. When he is the only thing you can think about. When you can see all his hopes and dreams and his soul when you look into his eyes. When even a simple chore done with him can become a lasting memory. You know you're in love when you can't imagine living without him, and can't figure, how did you live before you knew him.
