there is a car parked where the block begins

and there is a bird perched on a frayed wet wire
and his voice sings out for a lover
but its covered by the choir of voices
reaching way beyond the rafters
with devotion they perform these sacred tasks
they cross themselves and offer up their checkbooks
slight suffering is not too much to ask
besides we all are making money
and we are all fucking alone
and we don't know what we are doing
maybe just buying us some hope

i pass a graveyard on my way to work

ripping apart the sheets that dressed his bed
crying out loud for someone to help him
and collapsing on his back all pale and dead
maybe it's me who's this unstable
always obsessed about the end
why can't i let what happens happen?
and just enjoy the time i spend

but when there is no point to anything it can get a bit confusing
why is that i keep going?

Yes, but it is so true. Whoa, Bethany you made me Bright Eyes OBSESSED. I feel like, jumping off a bridge listening to this. I have downloaded like 12 of their songs and I love them.. I downloaded "sunrise" last night, because my friend was writing band names on her hand in english (yes, our class is asinine, and downright boring) and be just happened to be on there. And i'm like, ay, bright eyes! I've heard of them! This song shocked me at first; I expected them to be another emo band.... but it's great. Great pick, guys, I'm definetly going to pursue be.

If anyone created it, it's Connor. You don't write the lyrics and sing, you just push the band on people kinda like I push Alkaline Trio on people. So does that make me a believer in the Church of Satan, an alcoholic, and amazing bassist, guitarist, and drummer?

"The Calendar Hung Itself" is freaking awesome live. They need two dudes on the drum set because it's so percussion-y.
