ok i am here i shall answer all your questions. sorry i have some sort of death cold and have been sleeping all day
as for places that have one show - its no tthe band's fault, it is due to a lack of venue for 2 days in a row - so don't blame them!! if they had it their way there would be two shows in every city without exception Lots of work has gone into routing the one night shows close to places with the 2 nights shows to make up for it.
I should say, they came nowhere near me that I could reasonably afford get to, because of insane ticket prices and drives of more than 2-3 hours. If I'm going to drive that far to see them I might as well just drive the six hours to Toronto and make a vacation out of it.

They're all more than a 3 hour drive (Syracuse is maybe 2.5) and the ticket prices were nuts. Also, I believe several of those shows were in the middle of the week.

OK thanks. I'm sorry that I missed those dates, I didn't know about them. The travel was not feasible for the ones I did know about. I'm still mad.

Do those go on sale on Wednesday or as soon as they're announced? Do you think they'll sell out quickly?
Because if they come on sale on Wednesday, I'm busy playing a basketball game in a town about an hour away, so I won't get back until late. I'd miss that game to buy these VIP tickets.
Trusty, as much as I love you for your news and help, I'm disagreeing with you on that point. It's not necessarily a matter of personal preference and how much you want to go. Sometimes you just can't afford it. I drove for more than eight hours this summer to get to the show in Sarnia, because I saved up for months for that. The tickets for this are going on sale on Saturday, and it's almost Christmas. What time is there for me to save the $200 it's going to cost me for two tickets to each night's show? With the reaction it's getting on here, I'm expecting the shows to be sold out by Christmas. Am I wrong? Is anyone else expecting that?
I've traveled to Ontario to see them for every show I've seen since they played in Clifton Park in 2005. I could afford it those other times. As much as I love to travel (especially to Toronto), it's just not economically feasible this time. So despite the fact that this is something I've been waiting for for a very long time, I'm not able to go. And I think I'm allowed to be upset about that. Of course I wish them well and I hope it goes insanely awesomely, but I'm very bummed that this isn't going to happen anywhere near me, where I wouldn't have to drop a ton of money on gas, tolls, and a hotel stay on top of the cost of the tickets.
Also, I hope you get better soon.

I know the guys don't set the ticket prices (or do they?), but doesn't anyone remember the days when $20 would get you an entire festival ticket? The first time I saw them that's all it cost, and the second time it wasn't much more (only four years ago) and all of a sudden tickets are running upwards of $50 each and combined with travel and hotel costs, in this economy who can afford to do that?
Why can't the guys do a US tour for once? It's been too long and as much as I love traveling to see them, it's wearing on my wallet.
So thanks guys for putting this together, and I wish you all the best and hope to goodness you put out a live DVD so I can at least see it somehow, but I think it sucks that it's getting to be so difficult to go see them because their ticket prices keep going up and they never come to the States anymore.
i saw them for fifteen bucks at a festival and once more both in the states. this years tour.

Where I grew up, it was basically 170 miles minimum to see any nationally touring band. Very occasionally a band would come closer and it was only 70 miles. OLP has played that city once. But I'm pretty sure they have not played within 500 miles since the end of 2002. Although I've since moved...
So I've always laughed at what some people consider not close enough. And realistically when a band tours they can't play only weekend shows as it would increase the cost of accommodations and crew members -- ticket prices would end up being much higher.
Sorry you weren't able to see them, but they did tour the US quite a bit recently and it seems like they've made it to most the usual spots -- except the Pacific Northwest of course.
