Raine didn't say anything like that. He said that the whole guitar/bass/drums thing was what he wanted for Naveed, but for Burn Burn they were more willing to use things such as a piano and whatnot.

I have listened to it. He said for Naveed he just wanted guitar/bass/drums, and for Burn Burn they wanted to keep it simple but he was "more open to using things like the piano."
raw can also mean the instruments are not edited as much. when you are mixing and mastering some people really try and spiff up instruments by reverrbing them/compressing them more to hell, fucking with the whole entire mix sound, etc. you can just eq from the outside and record in and leave it at that leaving a "raw" sound.
and if i don't make it know that i've loved you all along.
Yeah, ivewaited is right about what Raine obviously intended when he said "raw". He didn't mean as in "edgy" or "juvenile" or whatever, he meant that they just recorded as-is and didn't do any (or very much) post-production.
raines voice pwned on gravity. the dude sounded like he was knocking down vampires and mad that mcdonalds ran out of hamburgers. he was just that heartfelt.
and if i don't make it know that i've loved you all along.
Vocally, Gravity is the best of the latter three albums. HIPT even has some pretty cool vocal stuff. Raine goes a little crazy in Wipe... which I like. Reminds me of the old days.
I don't have anything to add.
I just wanna get out,
Stuck inside of this.
Waiting for something else,
Random thought: What I really like about Fetus' signature is that the little fetus substitutes the line 'Waiting to exist'. You could somehow make a lyric from it. Like, 'Waiting for something else, I am a fetus...' etc. (It made more sense in my head!)
And agreed on the Raine's vocals stuff. I mean, Raine doesn't go all "hieee!" on Gravity, but he does have emotion in it, and he does sound powerful. He doesn't sound apathetic in HiPT either.
