I think the repetitiveness of it all wears down the music. Playing the same songs night after night year after year. Stepping away for a bit and then coming back to it after a good bit of time off probably breathes new life into it all.

yeah that is why bands should not be so lazy and play the same songs night after night. :P It also makes touring more fun if you know they mix it up, going to three shows in a row is not so boring

Raine made reference to a new album soon, and said that when they go on tour again for that new CD, they are going to end it back here.

Yes, it's pandering to the audience but having a big tour and cd soon is awesome.

he also said they were trying to ease back into playing together by doing some small shows.. I guess they didn't remember how big Mile One is..

Even if they do mix it up, they're still gonna have to play Innocent and Superman's Dead every show :P

Reading all this makes me so happy

Plus, no offense at all to you, Sarah, but you were definitely one of us that had sort of written them off.. So to hear this from someone like that just emphasizes how ridiculously awesome this must have been

I have a feeling that setlists for a tour as a four piece should be a little bit more diverse than they have been in recent years. Purely because they now have that option of pulling out a song like Neon Crossing or Supersatellite without having to be concerned about a 5th musician like Joel or Jamie being able to play along.

Thats why I believe that every band should be well rehearsed with their older material before a tour.

agreed doc. a band I used to see a LOT may have one song that was brought out for that tour (usually and oldie and goodie) and would play it at each venue. Other than that they never repeated songs, maybe they would play a song 2 maybe 3 times on a tour of about 10-15 shows (or more). I remember a night when one of the singers sang a song that they had played the night before and every one was shocked and laughing.
OLP has enough songs to definitely pull this off. It would keep them fresh and invigorated!

...Do you guys know how much work goes into keeping a song polished and performance-ready?
because I really think asking any band to do that with a catalogue of 40 or 50 songs (or in OLP's case, about 70 plus any new ones) is demanding an awful lot. And they don't really strike me as people who are satisfied with going up there and giving a seat-of-their-pants half-assed performance of any song.

I'm not a professional, but I have a lot of experience with music, including touring with an ensemble, and it takes hours upon hours of rehearsal to be able to fill just one concert with fresh music. So trying to drastically switch up the set-list from night to night (especially while dealing with all the other crap you have to do on tour) sounds impossible.
Well, obviously it's not impossible, because everyone likes to talk about bands they know who do it, but It's an awful lot to ask.

Hmm... I actually kind of like White Flag.. not their best, but I really wasn't expecting it to be. So far these songs are sounding like an improved, more "rocking" Healthy though...

I have to agree with Annie. Not that I have any stage experience, but, it is one of those easier said than done type of things.

I like White Flag, from what I can tell. Better than The Right Stuf.

Also, what is up with Duncan's Chris Jericho circa 2000 hair style?

I'd love to know why. Perhaps he lost a bet?

I know you've got the right stuff,
The right stuff,
You're loaded like a weapon,
A weapon,
And everybody wants some,
Wants some
(And I'm not gonna give up,
Give up)

I like both these songs. Very rock friendly and energetic.

Sorry, sounds very much like some cheap lyric Nippleback would have written.

Oh, yes. I entirely admit that I have given up on this band.
I wasn't even excited about the concert until like... 3 days before it happened?

If they had preformed a sucky combination of Decade and HIPT I would not be so stoked.

So, if you gave up on them, and weren't even excited about the show, why did you bother going?
