agreed with Sarah. let him be, Jim. this whole thing doesnt seem all that new of a situation, so i dont even know why you are uppity about this. and please don't give that "he's welcome to be supportive" bull because most of your comments imply that anyone still supporting OLP is a mindless meanstream idiot, and if still liking olp means being looked down upon like that, i would have passed. we know you no longer support OLP/Raine/Chantal/whatever, but give it a rest because you have been going over their faults for years now and we're all pretty much aware of them. the whole point of "supporting a band" is that you are loyal to them despite your awareness of their faults and flaws.

and like sarah said: "If you're allowed to be critical why can't he be supporitive?" if he (or anyone, for that matter) gets patronized, or his logic is called pathetic for his still supporting the band, why can't we look down upon you for being a redundant cynic?

maybe im missing something here, but the fact is that this is an OLP forum, which means that fans of OLP and people still interested in OLP still exist on this board, including supporter who are willing to look over their flaws. i no longer know for sure if i am one of these supporters, but saying "a lot of us on this board stopped loving olp since 'life' was released as a single and you haven't been around for very long so you know less than we do" kind of thing doesn't work.

Actually most of the people I was referring to came and went before you joined the CM... They got tired of OLP before a lot of people around here probably started to listen to them

Here's how important OLP is on this supposed OLP message board... 200 new posts, 0 in the OLP section. Do you know any other fan boards with those stats? cause the ones I frequent sure aren't like that. But anyways...

The comments may not be in the OLP section of the message board, but they appear in most of the other threads around here. Anything to do with music I see a few comments about OLP in. We discuss OLP in a lot of other threads as well. Maybe you're just not up on them.

So what if the guy's still happy with OLP's music? Let him be. I'm not happy with it, but I stick around in the hopes that it will get better, and because their older stuff is just so good. I don't care what other people think about them, I'm a fan and I'm going to stay one. That's what this person is doing. I think he has every right to his opinion.

And just because we haven't been members for as long as you have or the other OLP fans who "got tired of them" years ago doesn't mean we aren't relevant as fans and don't deserve an opinion.

I will go back to a point that Robbo has made time and time again. The enjoyment of music is subjective to the listener.

I think Jim is frustrated with blind faith and following a band just because a person loves them no matter what. I may agree with him somewhat there, but at the same time people have every right to do that. No one really needs to criticize and attack others, which is what has happened on both sides of the fence.

I'm not a blind fan, I'm someone who loves the band because of their music. They may not have been putting out the greatest music lately, but that doesn't change my love for them as a band and as a group of people who can put out some really fantastic music when they really get down to it.

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever
