Oh my gosh, your squares are great!!

I can't wait to do mine. But... anniversary project must get finished first.

Umm... speaking of that, is there any way I could possibly get an extension on my squares? Cos uhh... well, this scrapbook's gonna take a long time, then I go on my extravaganza(s) to see OLP, then the squares are due before I even get back. :(

Haha, of course!
I just sort of picked an arbitrary date. They are only touring until like May15th or something around that time, so its not like I can finish it by then anyway. :P

I had ideas when I had insomnia last night. I want to get some shimmery fabric and make a fish and do Happiness with it. And I want to make some angels for A/L/S. I also want a world map one, but I'd need something really stylised, and I can't find anything like that :(

I wish I had all my mummy's fabric still. She used to do loads of arty fabricy things and had an enormous box of small bits of fabric. We didn't really have anywhere to keep it when we moved house though, so I just kept the nicest bits (they're mostly shiny - I'm a magpie!) and the rest got given away :(

You could go to a fabric store and just get like fabric swatches from different materials or like a 1/2 meter or something so that it would be really cheap and you'd only get what you need.

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. I don't know any fabric shops around here, but hopefully the department store here should have something in the way of offcuts.

All kinds of colors. Lots of little patterns. I think some of it's probably from the early 80s, too. Heck, there might even be some that's from the 60s.

There's some really cool stuff in there, though.

I just realized that this thread has an awful lot of estrogen.
Come on guys, you know you want in too.

And even if you don't want to bother with sewing and all that, just give me a message and I'll include it.

hot pink fun fur square would be soo awesome. So we are not restricted to having painted squares are we. I was thinking of doing traditional quilted squares. I think it would be appropriate. Also for fabric, many fabric stores sell Fat quarters. If you ask for them they will show you. these are quarter meter squares precut for quilting.
Sarah if you need any help sewing or tips on 'squaring' up your squares just email me. All the squares must be exact or you will have a bubbly quilt and that would not be good.

yay for this idea.

Apparently one square has already been mailed to me.

I can't believe you guys are letting the CC beat us!

 Don't worry... we'll have far more squares from the CM than the CC when it's all said and done. ;)

... considering there's like 3 CCers that aren't CMers, too, anyway.
