I can't believe the US women's hockey team got beat today :O That means they're playing for bronze and we won't have a Canada vs. USA final!

good, after crying about Canada "running up the score"
as if they dont understand goal differentials are used as tie breaks

:( One of those girls plays for my college (though she took this year off, obviously), and she apparently had contributed a fair amount - I know she had an assist in the first game. So I'm sad that they lost.

Yeah because you're Canadian. Sweden made history today, I thought that was pretty cool.

Also the whole running up the score comment was really stupid. Canada doesn't run up the score, they play their best the whole game through because that's the only way each player will stay at the top of their game. They also seem to understand the tie-breaker rule and don't try to keep the games close if they're leading.

What'd Sweden do?

The men's Canada vs. Switzerland hockey game is on and... I don't even have words to describe it :( It's 2-0 for the Swiss team and Canada is playing like crap. WTF!?!?!

And we just got a friggin goal but after a lengthy review it was deemed to not be a goal. Holy crap, you should see the slow-mo reviews. Unbe-frigging-lievable

doubt it
its not as if Canada is low on fire power or something, those 3 wouldnt have made a difference

if they arent gonna use a distinct or explicit "shut down line" then those guys would be better fit (more so crosby or spezz with their speed/skills) then say, kris draper or someone along those lines

even with those 3 other guys i dont think it would have mattered

Their goalie stole them the game

Yay - another medal day for Canada:

-Winnipeg's Cindy Klassen skated to the silver medal in the women's 1,000 metres
(this is her third in this Olympics - she was part of the team pursuit silver medal and also got a bronze in the 3,000 metres)
- Under heavy snowfall, Pierre Lueders and brakeman Lascelles Brown powered their sled down the Italian track for a four-run time of three minutes, 43:59 seconds, capturing the silver medal.

Also, an American made speed-skating history: "Davis, the world record holder and unbeaten in six 1,000s on the World Cup circuit, covered 2 1/2 laps in one minute and 8.89 seconds at Turin's Oval Lingotto to become the first African-American to win an individual gold medal at a Winter Olympics"

Medal standings:
