Blog on .net!
Nope.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.
And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you

hehehe

That seemed really random to me. It seem random to anyone else?

new blog from steve..

Hey everyone,
Hope everyone is well. Long time no blog...sorry.
Just got back from a few days of doing some mountain climbing/hiking with my Uncle. We climbed Mt. Shasta in Northern California. It was a really great experience. Good to get out in nature for a bit and challenge myself a bit with the climb. Mountains are funny environments.....in the town where we were staying it was 100+ degrees Farenheit during the day, but for the first few hours of our climb, I was worried about getting frostbite in my fingers and toes because of the cold and snow! Growing up in Michigan where there is no elevation change you just don't experience such sudden climate change as that.....in Michigan it's either really damn cold or really damn hot pretty much all day. It was definitely a challenge mentally and physically for me to get to the top of this mountain, but I did it and it was a really cool experience. Especially the descent.....you do this thing called glissading which is basically human bobsledding without the bobsled. You just sit on your ass and slide down these huge tracts of snow that you just spent hours hiking up!! It will put a smile on even the grouchiest faces, especially because you feel so psyched that you just made it to the top of the mountain.
The last leg of the tour was really good.....as you probably all know, we did about 10 days in Alberta, BC, and SK. I'll have some pics up soon. We have a couple of shows coming up in August in Ontario and that may be it for touring for a bit, but we have been talking about getting some new song demoing happening pretty soon. I will dare say that there will not be another 3 year break before a new OLP record is out there.
The greatest hits record is happening. We have been choosing the songs, and be on the lookout as we may be asking our wonderful, dedicated fans to submit artwork for the cover. Not sure where or how to submit your work yet, but stay tuned for details........
The long drive up to Northern Cal gave me a nice oppurtunity to listen to some music. Been on a Hendrix and Zeppelin kick lately. Mainly Electric Ladyland from Hendrix and Physical Graffiti from Zeppelin. It seems that we are missing those kinds of groundbreaking, inovative artists from our music today. We need to get that spirit back into the world of music. If you have any ideas how or solutions.....please share them with others and encourage artistry in music and other mediums however/whenever you can. Art is one of the joys and beauties that we have in a world and life that is often difficult, so we need to cultivate it, not cheapen or discourage it, as society seems to be doing these days.
Hope that everyone is well out there. Take care and keep in touch.
Steve
p.s. Will put up some pics from the climbs in a bit....not quite sure how do to it and don't want to lose this post in the meantime!! (we all know how it feels to lose what you just wrote)

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

I'm going to submit a picture of a half eaten turkey wearing a pair of white boxers with the words "I still believe in marsupials" written in bright pink on them.
The background of the picture will be a beach with naked senior citizens sunbathing. The turkey will be sitting on one of the chairs in the sun in between an elderly man and woman. The man will be leaning over the turkey, motioning like he's ready to spread sunscreen all over the turkey, while squirting the lotion into his opposite hand.
There will be a boat pulling a water skiier from left to right and the pattern the water-skiier has skiied will spell the words "Our Lady Peace" in the path of water they've already passed over. On the boat ahead of the skiier, the side of the boat will have the words "Greatest Hits" on it.
I'm thinking the waterskiier should either be another elderly person or maybe a Dr. Phil look-a-like. (The real thing would cost too much)
